Climate resilience looks different in every community, but it always starts with empowering people to protect and sustainably manage the natural resources they depend on.
Through two innovative projects, our nonprofit partners in France and Morocco are tackling environmental challenges from different angles while working toward the same goal: creating more sustainable and resilient agricultural systems for the future.
In France, Fermes d'Avenir is helping farmers restore biodiversity through agroforestry. By planting trees, creating ecological corridors, and integrating nature-based solutions into farming practices, the project is rebuilding natural ecosystems that support wildlife, improve soil quality, store carbon, and strengthen farms against the impacts of climate change. So far, the project has supported the planting of 908 trees across 10,000 square meters, helping lay the foundation for healthier and more resilient landscapes.

In Morocco, Green OpenLab is taking a technology-driven approach to climate resilience. Through the Arwa smart irrigation platform, farmers gain access to real-time data that helps them optimize water use, improve irrigation efficiency, and make informed decisions in regions affected by water scarcity. The project has already helped farmers save 3,600 liters of water and 240 kWh of energy, while expanding awareness of sustainable water management among farming communities.
One farmer, Mouloud Belkhire, explained the difference the technology has made: "I've noticed significant improvements in irrigation efficiency since implementation. Now I know exactly how much water is needed rather than guessing."
