✨🇰🇭🇹🇭| Cambodia’s Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts has rejected Thailand’s claim that Ta Krabei and Tamone Temples belong to Thailand. Cambodia states that the temples are fully located within Cambodian territory, based on the 1904 and 1907 Franco-Siamese Treaties and the 1962 International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruling on Preah Vihear Temple.

The ministry said Thailand’s claims based on old administrative actions or unofficial maps have no legal value under international law. It also warned that any restoration work without Cambodia’s permission violates the 2000 border agreement and international conventions protecting cultural heritage during conflict.

Cambodia called on Thailand to stop unilateral actions and suggested resolving the dispute through the International Court of Justice instead of using force. Cambodia reaffirmed its commitment to protecting its cultural heritage and national sovereignty.

✨🇹🇭| Thai Caretaker Shows Disrespect to Hinduism After Demolition of Hindu Deity Statue.

During the ongoing invasion by Thai armed forces into Cambodian territory, a Thai group used an excavator to demolish a Hindu deity statue located inside Cambodia. This action deeply shames and insults religious faith and world heritage.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Shri Randhir Jaiswal, publicly condemned the Thai military action, calling it “a disrespectful act that hurts the sentiments of followers around the world.”

In response to this condemnation, Thai caretaker Prime Minister Anutin claimed that the destruction of the statue was insignificant compared to the lives of his soldiers, implying that the issue was not worth attention. Such a statement clearly shows blatant disregard and disrespect toward people who follow and respect Hinduism. Instead of responding politely to India, he demonstrated carelessness and disrespect toward more than 1.2 billion Hindu followers worldwide. His reckless behavior reflects an attitude that glorifies war and destruction, even when it results in damage to cultural and religious heritage, including ancient temples and sacred statues.

Furthermore, many Thai citizens appeared to laugh and celebrate the demolition, even calling it an achievement. They defended the shameful act of crudely dismantling a giant Hindu deity statue, further highlighting a disregard for the sacred values of others.

During the border conflict between Cambodia and Thailand, Thai armed forces have also damaged the Ta Krabey and Preah Vihear temples. These actions show a complete lack of respect for ancient civilization, cultural heritage, and the legacy of Cambodia’s ancestors—disregarding historical and cultural values that have been preserved for generations.

Hinduism profoundly shaped Cambodia’s iconic temples, especially Angkor Wat. Khmer temples built during the Khmer Empire (9th–15th centuries) were deeply connected to Hinduism, which served as the state religion. Rulers constructed monumental stone temples dedicated to Hindu gods such as Vishnu and Shiva, symbolizing cosmic homes for deities and expressions of royal authority. Their architecture recreated the Hindu universe—most notably Mount Meru—and incorporated Hindu iconography such as apsaras and garuda, as well as Indian architectural principles.

Cambodia calls for international condemnation of Thailand’s destruction and demolition of ancient temples and Hindu deity statues. Thailand has shown a lack of respect for Hinduism and for its followers around the world.

✨🚨| Following the dissemination of inaccurate translations of an official letter issued by Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defense by several Thai media outlets earlier today, the Cambodian Minister of National Defense issued the following clarification:

“ Some Thai media outlets both official and unofficial took an official letter (address Thai Defence Minister) and posted it like it was a leak. Even though we have Google Translate or AI like ChatGPT and Gemini, their translations don't match what the Thai media is interpreting and published for the Thai public. At this point I'm beyond confusing.🥱 “

: It should be noted that those Thai newspapers have repeatedly mistranslated facts on numerous occasions in the past, largely due to a lack of genuine professional competence and journalistic expertise. 📰🗞️🇹🇭

✨| Thai needs Peace! 🇹🇭🤔💭

When ASEAN chair Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim proposed an immediate ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand — an initiative publicly backed by US President Donald Trump — it should have marked a decisive step toward de-escalation. Instead, Thailand rejected it. This was not a misunderstanding, a technical objection or a procedural delay. It was a conscious decision to continue the conflict.

✨| Landmines Seem to “Rest” During the War 🇰🇭🇹🇭

After the ceasefire agreement on 28 July 2025, several Thai soldiers were reportedly killed or injured by landmines along the border. Thailand has repeatedly accused Cambodia of laying these mines. Since the ceasefire until 10 November 2025, around six incidents were reported, injuring approximately 18 Thai soldiers.

However, after Thai armed forces launched renewed attacks on Cambodia on 7 December 2025, no further reports of Thai soldiers stepping on landmines have emerged, despite Thai troops entering and invading Cambodian territory in the following days.

This raises serious questions. If Cambodia had indeed laid new landmines along the border, how could Cambodian soldiers have entered Thai territory to plant them? The Thai army has full capacity to control, patrol, and monitor its border areas.

Thailand has accused Cambodia of deploying PMN-2 anti-personnel landmines. In contrast, according to the Cambodian Mine Action Authority (CMAA), the landmines involved were old, uncleared remnants from past conflicts. The affected areas have long been contaminated by mines left behind during the civil war and the Khmer Rouge era. While Thailand claims the presence of newly laid mines, the CMAA maintains that these zones remain contaminated solely due to historical conflicts.

First Vice-President of the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA), Senior Minister Ly Thuch, urged States Parties to uphold evidence-based procedures and avoid turning the Ottawa Convention into a political arena.

Meanwhile, since 7 December 2025, Thai armed forces have continued attacking Cambodia, yet no landmine incidents have been reported during this period. This contrasts sharply with the earlier period under the ceasefire, when Thai soldiers were reportedly injured by landmines.

Thailand has used these landmine incidents as a justification to launch renewed military attacks, causing widespread tension and escalation along the border. The Thai government initiated a military operation against its neighbour based on unverified landmine allegations, while portraying its actions as “self-defence.”

According to a White House post, President Donald Trump stated that “The roadside bomb that originally killed and wounded numerous Thai soldiers was an incident, but Thailand nevertheless retaliated very strongly.” This statement exposes the reality that Thailand used the landmine incidents as a pretext to provoke conflict and launch a serious and brutal military operation against Cambodia.

It is important to note that Cambodia is a State Party to the Ottawa Treaty, officially known as the 1997 Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on Their Destruction, which aims to eliminate anti-personnel landmines worldwide.
