Mimosa Matters

Mimosa was set up as a “kitchen-table charity” on the Riviera nine years ago by a team of nine women who have all seen Cancer close up.

Mimosa is an association of general interest, dedicated to the promotion of cancer prevention, awareness and education through the creation and support of cancer-related projects in the South of France. Our collective experience of the illness indirectly through seeing friends and family suffer gave us a simple shared desire – to help make a difference. From different parts of the UK and Europe, we have all chosen to base ourselves in the South of France, and felt it was important to give back to the local community that has embraced us. We are by no means experts but we have heart and conviction and have pooled our combined talents to dedicate ourselves to raising funds for local cancer associations and individuals.

💗 ANTIBES TURNED PINK! 💗

What an afternoon! More than 1,000 people came together yesterday for the 4th Défi Rose d’Antibes — 5km along our beautiful coastline, all in support of an incredibly important cause.

Organised by La Ligue contre le cancer - Comité des Alpes-Maritimes (06), in partnership with Mimosa Matters and the Mairie d'Antibes Juan les Pins, it was everything we love about our community: people of all ages showing up, joining in and having fun while making a difference. 💕

A HUGE thank you to everyone who walked, ran, volunteered, baked, helped and cheered.

And an especially big thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who gave up their afternoon to come along, lend a hand and help make the event such a success. We simply couldn’t do these community events without you. 💗

I had my mammogram today. I always feel a little nervous before an appointment because you never know what the results might bring. But at Tzang Hospital, I feel cared for. The doctors are kind, smiling, and take the time to answer every question I have. That makes it easier for me to come back for my screening each year. 💗 October Rose is a lovely reminder, but looking after your breast health matters all year round. If you’re due for a mammogram, please book your appointment. And if you’re unsure whether you also need an ultrasound, ask your doctor. Make the appointment and take your friend with you 💗
