Mimosa Matters

Mimosa Matters Mimosa was set up as a “kitchen-table charity” on the Riviera nine years ago by a team of nine women who have all seen Cancer close up.

Mimosa is an association of general interest, dedicated to the promotion of cancer prevention, awareness and education through the creation and support of cancer-related projects in the South of France. Our collective experience of the illness indirectly through seeing friends and family suffer gave us a simple shared desire – to help make a difference. From different parts of the UK and Europe, w

e have all chosen to base ourselves in the South of France, and felt it was important to give back to the local community that has embraced us. We are by no means experts but we have heart and conviction and have pooled our combined talents to dedicate ourselves to raising funds for local cancer associations and individuals.

Yesterday, Ruth and Juliette had the privilege of joining Seb Harris and Oscar Glenister for part of the final stage of their extraordinary London to Nice run. https://londres-nice-by-sebharris.lovable.app/?utm_source=ig&utm_medium=social&utm_content=link_in_bio&fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQPOTM2NjE5NzQzMzkyNDU5AAGnBxTL7kgxEJLU01qD9641OPixKBNHmRTzczVspFBponv82lxE75LDL8r5vwI_aem_a6SFWCSFXtfFTJswGZw8qA&utm_id=97760_v0_s00_e0_tv3

Thirty stages. Sixty kilometres a day. From 22 June to 21 July. And yesterday, from Cannes to Nice, we joined them midway to support them towards the finish line.

It is hard to put into words what these two have achieved. Seb and Oscar are not only incredibly strong and determined, but also two of the kindest, most genuine young men you could hope to meet.

We also met the wonderful family, friends and support team who have driven, cooked, organised and kept them going every step of the way. As we reached Nice, a local run club joined in to run them home. It was incredibly moving.

Sometimes you meet people who push themselves beyond anything imaginable simply to help others. Seb and Oscar are two of those people, raising funds for our partners at La Ligue contre le cancer - Comité des Alpes-Maritimes (06).

Please donate a few euros if you can. Every contribution is a way of recognising something truly remarkable. https://www.helloasso.com/associations/ligue-contre-le-cancer-06/formulaires/13

Huge bravo from all of us at Mimosa to Seb Harris and Oscar Glenister and their support team, who are running all the way from London to Nice to raise funds for our long-standing partners, La Ligue contre le cancer - Comité des Alpes-Maritimes (06).
An extraordinary challenge in any circumstances, but in this heat, truly incredible.🙌
We believe all charity efforts like this deserve to be celebrated. We applaud every kilometre and can’t wait to welcome them into Nice for the final stage from Cannes.
If you are around and would like to support, cheer, or even join for the final kilometres, follow the journey and donate to their efforts here:

Bravo Seb and Oscar — the Mimosa community is fully behind you. 💛

At Mimosa, we often talk about supporting La Ligue contre le cancer - Comité des Alpes-Maritimes (06), but you may not know exactly what they do, why we support them, and how important their work is for cancer patients in our region.
La Ligue provides vital support to patients and their families through psychological counselling, practical assistance, adapted physical activity programmes, prevention and awareness campaigns, and help throughout the cancer journey. They also fund research and advocate for patients’ rights.
This is why we chose to support La Ligue and why, thanks to the generosity of our guests, sponsors, partners and donors, we raised and donated €20,000 during our Summer Soirée.
Every euro raised goes towards helping people affected by cancer in our local community. This is where your donations went, and this is the difference you are making. Thank you💙

We are so disappointed for Vincent after all the hard work and months of training. 💔

But we understand that safety comes first.

Vincent, we’re incredibly proud of you. The race may be cancelled, but the cause remains as important as ever. We’ll be cheering you on when the new date is announced. 💛

Messenger from Vincent:

As many of you have probably heard, Ironman Nice was cancelled.
Right now, I should have been out on the bike, somewhere in the middle of the course, so it’s incredibly frustrating not to be on the start line today. Months of preparation, all leading to this moment, and it’s hard to put into words how disappointing it feels.
We’re now waiting to hear from the Ironman organisers about what happens next.
I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated, shared, and supported me throughout this journey. Your encouragement has kept me going through every training session, and I’m so grateful.
A special thank you as well to my sponsors: Y.CO Freedom Maritime, to Mimosa Matters and camila anastasia _sport_et_cancer
and of course Andree Browne. I couldn’t have done this without your belief and support.
While today’s race has been cancelled, the reason I took on this challenge hasn’t changed, and the fundraiser remains just as important.
Thank you all for believing in this cause. I hope I’II be back very soon with a new race date, and when that day comes, I’ll be giving it everything l’ve got.

🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️ This Sunday: Vincent takes on Ironman Nice for Mimosa
This Sunday 28 June, Vincent Kobylinski will take on the Ironman in Nice to raise funds for Mimosa, supporting the new CAMI Sport & Cancer centre in Cannes.
CAMI Sport et Cancer offers therapeutic physical activity for people affected by cancer, helping patients rebuild strength, mobility, balance and confidence during and after treatment.
Earlier this month, Vincent visited the new CAMI facility at CHU Cannes Simone Veil, where they were able to see a real session with patients and the impact this support can have.
Mimosa is proud to support Vincent, alongside Y.CO - The Yacht Company and Freedom Maritime as he takes on this incredible challenge.
Let’s cheer him on and help him reach his goal. 💛

💛 Your donations in action: MyLab™ E80
This month, Marilen Kenington, who led the campaign, and Magali Ette visited the new MyLab™ E80 MRI–ultrasound fusion system, now up and running at the Institut du Cancer de Mougins at Hôpital Privé Arnault Tzanck.
Guided by Dr Lambert Gury, they saw how this technology is already helping improve prostate cancer diagnosis, allowing for more accurate and less invasive biopsies.
Thanks to the Mimosa community, we raised over €36,000, 120% of our goal, to help bring this equipment to our region.
Real, local impact. Thank you. 💛

We are eight women. We are mothers, professionals, and caregivers. We each have families, children, responsibilities, and busy lives.
Yet every Tuesday, we come together with one shared purpose: to find new ways to support cancer patients in our region.
We plan events, collaborate with local organizations, search for volunteers, seek sponsors, and work tirelessly to create meaningful support for those facing one of life’s most difficult challenges.
Everything we do is in our free time. We do it voluntarily, without pay, driven only by compassion, hope, and the belief that no one should face cancer alone.
Every project, every meeting, and every act of support is made possible by people who care. Thank you for standing with us, believing in our mission, and helping us bring hope where it is needed most.
