Advanced Materials for a Sustainable European Future is an EUROCLUSTER project funded under the SMP

The MAT4EU project aims to structure the European ecosystem for advanced materials by bringing together six European clusters active across various industrial sectors, including mobility, aerospace & defence, construction, agri-food, renewable energy, and health. The project will identify key partnerships necessary to promote the development and adoption of advanced materials, thereby improving th

e strategic autonomy and competitiveness of the European industry. MAT4EU will support European SMEs in developing new products and services based on advanced materials, reducing their reliance on critical inputs and non-EU technologies. The project will also encourage the digital and sustainable transition of the advanced materials industry. Additionally, MAT4EU will facilitate SME access to global supply chains and international markets. The project will provide training tailored to the needs of the European and regional advanced materials ecosystems to foster workforce upskilling and reskilling. Finally, MAT4EU will implement communication, dissemination, and networking activities to extend the project's reach and impact. The proposed MAT4EU project aims to build a cohesive, collaborative Advanced Materials ecosystem across Europe by leveraging the strengths of multiple regional clusters and existing networks and initiatives. The project will first identify key players, challenges, and priorities within the ecosystem that align with the EU's Advanced Materials priorities. It will structure the ecosystem by facilitating networking, cluster-peer learning, and matchmaking events. By providing financial, internationalisation, networking and training support, the project will help SMEs develop innovative AM solutions, enhance the sustainability and circularity of their value chain, and adopt cutting-edge digital technologies. Ultimately, this initiative will foster investment by SMEs and the resilience and competitiveness of European SMEs in the global market.
