I am delighted to be part of the Logoscope residency program this June.
Together with Agnès Roux, I will continue the research initiated during the centenary of Marcel Duchamp's Monte Carlo Bonds (1924), pursuing new investigations. This new chapter focuses on Duchamp's relationship with André Breton, particularly their collaborations on Surrealist exhibitions and editorial projects.
Our research explores how Duchamp and Breton created a hybrid space between exhibition, publication, and theoretical narrative, a crucial moment in the redefinition of how artworks are presented, interpreted, and circulated. We are especially interested in the tension between the emergence of the modern "white cube" and the Surrealist "black box."
More broadly, this project continues our ongoing inquiry into the production of value, the roles of artist and author, artistic know-how, and the visibility of the artwork. By revisiting these historical experiments, we hope to open new perspectives on our own contemporary conditions.
Merci Agnès Roux pour l` incroyable possibilitè !
