Building Resilience through 4CA and DRM Project in the Pacific

Building Resilience through 4CA and DRM Project in the Pacific Build safe and resilient communities in which children and young people contribute to managing and reducing the risks associated with change

Building Resilience through Child Centred Climate Change Adaptation (4CA) and Disaster Risk Management program is an innovative approach to DRM and CCA as it fosters the agency of children and youth, in groups and as individuals, to work towards making their lives safer and their communities more resilient to disaster and climate risks. This program is an extension to Child Centred Climate Change

Adaptation Program funded by the Australian Government from 1July 2011 to 30 June 2014. This program is empowering for children, and respectful of their views and rights as well as their vulnerabilities. This program employs a flexible rights-based approach combining child-focused (for children) and child-led (by children) activities with interventions geared towards bringing about change in community, local and national duty bearers. It applies strategies such as awareness raising, capacity building, group formation, institutional development, research and influencing and advocacy across a range of arenas.
