BLESSED HOLY WEEK

The Epistle Reflection from the Daily Devotion (NZPB pg 115) says: "Who are we whom God has called? Few of us are wise, few are powerful. Yet to shame the wise, God has chosen what the world counts folly; to shame the strong. God has chosen what the world counts weakness."

The reflection reminds us that as we journey through Holy Week towards Good Friday and Easter, let us put on Christ like a garment, carry our cross and follow him to share in his pain, suffering, and death that we may also share in his resurrection into a new life.

Wish you all a bless Holy Week, a Good Friday and a Triumphant Resurrection Day on Sunday.

Let us pray:

God,
grant us the serenity
to accept the things we cannot change,
the courage to change the things we can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Be with us through this day and the rest of the week
Whether or not it brings us joy
Help us when evening comes to recall one benefit
for which to give you thanks.

Remember that you are ash and to ash you shall return. Coming face to face with our frailty and mortality reminds us of our need to be penitent as we prepare for Good Friday and thr Ressurection.

The work continues with the preparation of the Vicarage for the incoming priest, navigating our way around packed boxes of our stuff as we empty the rooms to paint the rooms.

Thank you Boys from the Moana Boy's Home, House parent Sireli, staff of St. Christopher's Home and our Youth for the cleaning of the compound yesterday.

Thank you also Boys for planting cassava and cleaning the compound in preparation for the new in-coming Priest-in-Charge. A bit left down the slope to be done before we move.

Take Care when on the roads, do not cross streams or rivers, keep your children safe indoors. Do not go out to sea and do anything that will put your life in jeopardy. Better to keep safe and warm at home than sorry.

A HEAVY RAIN ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE FOR REST OF FIJI GROUP.

FlASH FLOOD ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE FOR LOW LYING AND LAND FLOOD PRONE AREAS OF VANUA LEVU, NORTHERN AND EASTERN PARTS OF VITI LEVU[TAVUA, RAKIRAKI, TAILEVU, NAVUA, SUVA, NAUSORI, INTERIOR BA-RA-NAITASIRI &
SERUA-NAMOSI].

Situation: TD05F was located west of Vanuatu at midnight. Meanwhile, an associated trough approaches the country from the northwest with cloud and rain expected to affect most parts of the country from later today.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:
Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms especially in the afternoon or evening over Northern Division, Yasawa group, Lau and Lomaiviti group, Northern and Eastern parts of Viti Levu [ Tavua, Rakiraki, Tailevu, Navua, Suva, Nausori], interior Ba-Ra-Naitisiri & Serua-Namosi.

Elsewhere, fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers and hunderstorms. Isolated heavy falls expected. Showers increasing to rain and becoming frequent from later today over most places. Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying and flood prone areas.

Moderate northwesterly to southeasterly winds, fresh at times.
Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Sunday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and isolated
thunderstorms over most places. Isolated heavy falls with thunderstorms expected. Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying and flood prone areas.
