The Transport Commerce & General Workers Union of Fiji stands in solidarity with workers around the world this Make Amazon Pay Day.
Amazon’s business model doesn’t just squeeze workers, it drives climate change through unchecked emissions, wasteful logistics, and an ever-expanding footprint that puts frontline communities at risk.

For the Pacific, the stakes could not be higher. Our region is already bearing the brunt of rising seas, stronger storms, and climate-driven displacement. Corporations like Amazon must take responsibility for the environmental damage their operations cause and commit to real climate action that protects workers and the planet.

As part of a global movement spanning more than 30 countries, TCGWU joins the call: Workers deserve better. Our climate deserves better. Amazon must do better. Global Union

OPPOSITION LEADS THE CONSULTATION ON THE BILL- THE VERY MEMBERS WHO WERE ANTI-WORKER, AND AGAINST THIS BILL- ANTHONY.

The Fiji Trades Union Congress no longer has faith in the work of the Parliamentary Sector Committee on the EMPLOYMENT RELATIONS (AMENDMENT) BILL 2025 (BILL NO. 27 OF 2025). The Committee clearly sees no urgency in its work nor does it understand its role. The Committee commenced Public Hearing almost a month after Parliament referred the Bill to it. As we see, the ongoing public hearings that the Committee is conducting, the Deputy Chair seems to be behaving as a Tribunal calling for evidence and making comments that appear to be biased against workers and Unions.
