Dialogue Fiji, in collaboration with Rehoboth Wells South Pacific and with the support of the European Union under the “Democracy for All: Strengthening Inclusive Governance in Fiji (DASIG-Fiji)” project, today commenced a two-day Youth Policy Dialogue at the Labasa District Scouts Council Hall, bringing together 32 participants from across the community.
Held under the theme “Empowered Youth, Informed Choices, Strong Identity”, the dialogue provides a platform for young people to engage directly with key stakeholders on critical issues affecting their wellbeing, development, and future.
Day 1 featured informative and engaging presentations by:
1. Fiji Police Force (Community Policing) – raising awareness on drugs and community safety
2. Medical Services Pacific (MSP) – sharing insights on HIV & AIDS awareness and health education
3. Ministry of Youth and Sports – highlighting youth development opportunities
4. Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection – outlining social protection services available to young people
The sessions encouraged open dialogue, increased awareness, and equipped participants with knowledge to make informed decisions while strengthening their identity and role within their communities.
The programme continues tomorrow, with further discussions and engagement aimed at deepening youth understanding and participation in issues that shape their lives.
Dialogue Fiji remains committed to fostering inclusive spaces where young voices are heard, informed, and empowered.
