We were nowhere to be found then...
The shadows descend; we walk alone …where there is no companion
Tear as we see our children dying …women voices crying out for help
The inner pains...Living in the bondage
The night breeze blows our hope away
People look down on us
wars from the north to the south…Same to the west and east
We pray and pray.. Who and who could take these pains away? Who could listen to our inner voices ? Saying HELP…HELP…
who could wipe our tears away ? who could feel what we felt ? Who could accept to be used for the Humanity ? Who could carry our voices out there ? It was said Those girls cannot go to school
But there was someone, who knew and hears our pains,
Yes we would no more be called slave of wars and hungers
Yes you have empowered us
You have braked the bridge for us
You make us stronger
You not only gave us fish but taught us how to fish
You make us proud ….that is why we speak your names
Today we represent the Africa.. Yes we do
We represent women, girls and children
We represent those who have lost hope and you brought the hope to them. On behalf of our mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers,children we say we speak your NAMES. The name of your organizations are engraved deeper in our souls and our hearts. Our fore fathers wished to see these days… To see Africa empowered
Today as we gather here we celebrate you,
We celebrate your fight
We celebrate your courage
We celebrate your incomparable love
we celebrate your passion
And we say thank you
