Marco Loricchio is a Helsinki-based hospitality and events specialist working across food, fashion, and lifestyle—spaces where people gather and connect. He recently co-founded Byroo (.club), a coffee shop designed as a social room and hangout space where hosting becomes an exploration of community.

Easy-going, a little chaotic, and always dressed a bit over the top, Marco jokingly calls himself a knock-off Carrie Bradshaw—think bags, shoes, big dinners with friends, men, and wine.

Having lived across cultures and worn many hats, Marco explores what it really means to be local—and how belonging shapes both communities and the people within them.

Death is never an easy topic for anyone to discuss about, yet Dr. Renske Visser started to talk about her podcast with warm smile and light tone, as if it is just another casual chitchat on an average morning.

Renske shared the first memory of human death with the audience - when she was eight years old, long before she became a medical anthropologist specializing in ageing, dying and death, her favorite uncle died. This struck her, along with the precious last moments she spent with him.

In the talk, Renske inspired people to ponder the definition of death by categorizing it in four types - social death, biological death, individual death and brain death. She encouraged everyone to reflect on their own journey with death, which may possibly motivate a more meaningful and fuller way of existance.

Happy to introduce our CreativeMornings/Helsinki february speaker Renske Visser is a Medical Anthropologist originally from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oulu, and the Consular Officer at the Embassy of the Netherlands in Helsinki.

Her research interests include the broad topics of ageing, dying and death. She has conducted research on parental bereavement in young adulthood, homemaking in later life, ageing in secure psychiatric hospitals, and cancer care in prison. Presently, she is exploring how and when to engage children with the topic of death.

She is co-host of the and runs the blog Dead Good Reading. In this talk, Renske will not offer any clear-cut answers but instead invite you to reflect on your own journey with death — the assumptions, fears, and possibilities that emerge when thinking about this topic. Embracing death does not kill you, but may well invite you to walk the path of life to the fullest.

Our theme for February is CAMINO. It was chosen by our Oviedo chapter in Asturias, Spain and illustrated by Marta Vila.

Camino (pronounced Kah-Mee-Noh) is a Spanish word meaning “path” or “way.”

You don’t have to know exactly where your path leads, just trust that you’ll learn what you need along the way. Wherever you are headed, we wish you, as they say in Oviedo, “buen camino.”  May you have a safe and meaningful journey.

Our first gathering in 2026 was lit up by Ronny Eriksson, a young serial entrepreneur who has never been lack of passion, energy and creativity.

Through what he called “11 glimmers of hope”, Ronny navigated the devotions in his life with the audience, from the basketball playing in teenage years, several startups during university time, all the way to the current ODDfest. The common thread along the way is obvious - if something is not working, Ronny never let it be an impediment for further exploration. He has been constantly searching for meaning of life, as well as what to bring to the community and society.

ODDfest is Ronny’s most recent effort to build a bridge between creativity crowd and business sector. Even in such a world situation less than ideal, he never stops trying - “Even a glimmer is enough to keep going.” Ronny shared his motto with the audience, whom have encouraged by his enthusiastic talk greatly.

Meet our next CreativeMornings Helsinki speaker: Ronny Eriksson

is a Finnish creative entrepreneur, researcher, and the founder of .co —a cultural platform exploring where creativity, business, and society collide. His work focuses on building creative ecosystems and helping organizations understand why some ideas don’t just work—but matter.

Driven by instinct, experimentation, and a healthy sense of urgency, Ronny moves fluidly between creative movements, startups, classrooms, and boardrooms. Always guided by one question: what makes something culturally relevant?

Through ODDfest and the wider All Things ◉ↁↁ ecosystem, Ronny is redefining what it means to build things that are creatively fearless and strategically sharp.

Our theme for January is کورسو (KOORSOO). It was chosen by our Tehran chapter in Iran and illustrated by Hoda Ramy.

کورسو or Koorsoo (pronounced Koor·Soo) is a Farsi word meaning “a glimmer of hope.”

As a new year begins, ask yourself, “what is giving me hope right now?” Share your koorsoo with the people around you. Because the world needs all the hope it can get.
