Student Akililu Mengistu explained that voluntarism means using our own will, strength, time, financial resources, and similar assets to serve and help our community. Because organizations that provide community support are rarely seen in the area where we were born and raised, he raised the point that our students, youth, merchants, government employees, farmers, religious leaders, and others must stand together to work on solving our community's problems and support one another with what we have.
Currently, students who study in various places are returning to their home areas for vacation. He strongly emphasized that during this free time, we must engage in voluntary community work by tutoring the younger students behind us, planting and caring for trees, helping those in need, and entering into active service by providing education that benefits the society.
In conclusion, because Shoorima is currently an organization at its conceptual stage, he delivered a message to the volunteers of the Shoorima Charity Organization (SCO), stating that we must collaborate with relevant stakeholders to build a strong institution. He emphasized that everyone must work hard and cooperate together so that the organization expands beyond Bilatte and Hawassa Zuria Woreda Districts to become well-known throughout the entire Sidaama region, and eventually across Ethiopia.
