MSI Ethiopia develops a system that automates its internal operation

MSI Ethiopia has launched the automation of its internal systems as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen operational efficiency, accountability, and effective management of organizational resources.

The newly developed system primarily focuses on fixed asset management, finance, and financial control mechanisms, providing an integrated platform to improve the management of key internal processes. The automation is expected to streamline workflows, strengthen internal controls, improve data management, and support timely and informed decision-making.

According to Mesfine Seifu, Team Leader of the development team, the system was developed over a period of more than one year through the dedicated efforts of the development team. The extended development process allowed the team to design and refine the system to respond to the organization's internal operational requirements.
“The development team has worked for more than a year to develop the system, taking into consideration the needs of the different user departments,” Mesfin said.

Before full implementation, MSI Ethiopia will provide training to relevant user departments to ensure staff have the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively use the new system. The training will also help users familiarize themselves with the system's features, processes, and functionalities.

Habtamu Beyene, the team member of the developing team, in his part noted: “The automation initiative represents an important step in MSI Ethiopia's digital transformation journey. By reducing reliance on manual processes and strengthening financial and asset management mechanisms, the system is expected to contribute to greater efficiency, transparency, and accountability across the organization.”

MSI Ethiopia east area team promotes greener health facilities through tree-planting activity

MSI Ethiopia’s Adama MCH and East Area Program Office teams, in coordination with the Adama City Health Office, has conducted a tree-planting activity at a health center compound in Adama City.
The activity has been organized as part of MSI Ethiopia’s shared commitment to environmental sustainability, climate action, and creating greener and healthier health-facility environments. By contributing to the greening of health facilities, the initiative reflects the organization’s broader commitment to supporting healthier communities and a more sustainable environment.

Beyond its environmental benefits, the activity provided an opportunity to strengthen collaboration and partnership among health-sector stakeholders. The joint effort demonstrated how collective action can contribute to improving the surrounding environment while creating more welcoming and healthier spaces for health workers, clients, and the wider community.

MSIE Participates in the 13th East African Healthcare Federation International Exhibition

MSI Ethiopia reproductive choices participated as a partner in the 13th East African Healthcare Federation International Conference and Health Exhibition, held from August 21–23, 2026, at the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum in Addis Ababa.
The three-day conference brought together diverse stakeholders from across the health sector, including healthcare providers, private-sector actors, financial institutions, policymakers, and other partners working to strengthen healthcare systems and services in the region.

As a partner, MSIE used the exhibition platform to showcase its contribution to expanding access to quality, client-centered sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services in Ethiopia. The event also provided an opportunity for MSIE to engage with partners and stakeholders, exchange experiences, and explore opportunities for collaboration.

The conference served as an important platform for sharing knowledge and experience, networking, and strengthening partnerships among actors across the healthcare ecosystem. Discussions and engagements highlighted the importance of collaboration between healthcare providers, financial institutions, government institutions, and development partners to improve access to sustainable and quality healthcare services.

MSIE’s participation reaffirmed its commitment to working with partners and stakeholders to advance innovative approaches and strengthen healthcare services that respond to the needs of communities.
