EPAA Declares 2026 as a “Year of Action” Grounded in Research-Based Evidence
Addis Ababa, 30 December 2025 — The Ethiopian Professional Associations Alliance (EPAA) convened professional association leaders and key stakeholders today for a high-level consultative dialogue focused on advancing coordinated, evidence-driven action across sectors.
The discussion was marked by constructive engagement and a shared commitment to strengthening the role of professional associations in national development. Participants unanimously agreed to designate 2026 as a “Year of Action,” guided by research-based evidence, professional standards, and collaborative implementation.
The dialogue emphasized the importance of:
Translating research findings into practical policy and programmatic actions
Strengthening collaboration among professional associations, government institutions, civil society, and development partners
Enhancing institutional capacity and accountability within professional associations
Promoting evidence-informed decision-making to address national development priorities
EPAA underscored that the Year of Action will focus on moving beyond dialogue to measurable results, ensuring that professional expertise contributes meaningfully to policy formulation, implementation, and public service delivery.
“The collective resolve demonstrated today reflects a strong commitment to action, impact, and accountability,” EPAA noted. “Grounding our interventions in research and professional evidence will be central to achieving sustainable and inclusive outcomes in 2026.”
EPAA will work closely with its member associations and stakeholders to develop clear action plans, implementation frameworks, and monitoring mechanisms to operationalize this commitment throughout 2026
