Excited to highlight some key takeaways from our recent learning and benchmarking visit to Rwanda as part of the Alliance for Birth Defects initiative in partnership with ReachAnother Foundation

Together we got an opportunity to learn about two innovative centers that specialize in assistive technology and biomedical engineering

HVP Gatagara Nyanza Orthotics & Rehabilitation Hospital- Learning about their patient oriented rehabilitation process, approach to care delivery and fabrication of mobility aids.

EAC Regional Center of Excellence in Biomedical Engineering and E-Health (CEBE)- Witnessing firsthand how they use additive manufacturing, digital design and bioengineering for orthotics and prostheses in their Rehabilitation and 3D Printing Unit to advance prosthetic and orthotic care, research, and academic training.

Witnessing how they utilize 3D printing technologies in practice definitely resonates with our common vision of expanding access to assistive devices by the Alliance for Birth Defects and and ReachAnother Foundation.
