Empowers MCH Leaders with Self-Care knowledge and Skills
A landmark orientation training program, the “RMNCAYH-N Self-Care Orientation Training”, was successfully conducted in Arba Minch Daros hotel from September 1-3, 2026. Organized by ESOG in collaboration with the South Ethiopia regional Health Bureau, ESOG arranged the "RMNCAYH-N Self-Care Orientation Training."
The training focused on useful and policy-aligned self-care interventions that may be included into reproductive, maternity, infant, child, adolescent, and youth health and nutrition services, according to the program description.
The purpose of the training was to give MCH leaders up-to-date national guidelines so they could give providers who engage directly with communities better technical and managerial support. Additionally, the training focused on MCH practitioners' leadership role in assisting communities in implementing sustainable health practices.
Facilitated discussions emphasized the importance of self-care interventions in modern service delivery, while highlighting the leadership role of MCH professionals in guiding communities toward sustainable health practices.
This program represents a strategic investment in health leadership at the local level. By equipping the region MCH leaders with evidence-based knowledge, the training ensures stronger support for healthcare practitioners and healthier outcomes for families across the region.

National Training to Equip MCH Leaders with Self-Care Knowledge and Skills
A pivotal national orientation training program, the "RMNCAYH-N Self-Care Orientation Training," has commenced in Central Hawassa Hotel , Hawassa town, running from August 27 to 29, 2026. This critical initiative, organized by ESOG in close collaboration with the Sidama regional Health Bureau, is designed to build the capacity of Maternal and Child Health (MCH) leaders across the region.
The training's overall aim is to strengthen the capacity of these frontline health leaders by familiarizing them with the latest national self-care guidelines and intervention procedures. This knowledge is crucial for enhancing their competencies to effectively support and manage health providers, ultimately improving healthcare delivery and access for communities.
