🌸 Empowering Women and Girls with Disabilities in Ethiopia 🌸
📍 Addis Ababa, Ethiopia | 12 February 2026
We are proud to announce a transformative new one-year initiative led by the New Life Teen Challenges Development and Relief Program (NLTCDRP) in partnership with the Embassy of Finland in Ethiopia.
This powerful collaboration aims to strengthen Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) for women and girls with disabilities at:
🎓 Addis Ababa University
🎓 Debre Birhan University
✨ A Vision for Change
With over 20 years of dedicated service, NLTCDRP has championed the rights, dignity, and full participation of marginalized communities — especially women and girls with disabilities.
Our vision is simple yet powerful:
💜 A future where every woman and girl can realize her full potential — free from discrimination, stigma, and barriers.
🎯 What This Initiative Will Achieve
This project directly addresses the unique challenges faced by female students with disabilities in accessing SRHR services in higher education institutions.
🔹 1. Increase Knowledge
Empower 250 female students with disabilities with comprehensive SRHR awareness by the end of the project.
🔹 2. Improve Accessibility
Ensure disability-inclusive and youth-friendly SRH services are available both on campus and nearby.
🔹 3. Build Institutional Capacity
Strengthen university policies and accountability systems to protect and promote SRHR rights.
🔹 4. Reduce Stigma
Promote advocacy and awareness campaigns to challenge discrimination and harmful norms.
🌍 Key Activities
✅ Inclusive Awareness Campaigns
Accessible outreach through sign language, Braille, and radio broadcasts.
✅ Peer Support Clubs
Safe spaces for connection, shared experiences, and collective advocacy.
✅ Training for Health Workers
Capacity building for campus staff and healthcare providers on disability inclusion and rights-based SRH services.
✅ Policy Advocacy
Collaboration with university leadership to adopt comprehensive, inclusive SRHR policies.
♀️ Advancing Gender Equality
Women’s empowerment is not only a human right — it is the foundation for peaceful, resilient, and sustainable communities.
This initiative amplifies the voices of women and girls with disabilities and ensures they are not left behind.
🌱 Sustainable Impact
With a budget of €35,000, this initiative integrates human rights principles with sustainability, equipping young women to become leaders and agents of change — including in broader environmental health challenges.
✨ Together, we are building inclusive universities.
✨ Together, we are strengthening rights and dignity.
✨ Together, we are shaping a future where every woman and girl thrives.

✨We had a productive and enlightening meeting with CRVPF Executive Director Mr. Fasil W/ Marriam to discuss the CRVPF-funded project focused on adolescent girls. We had the pleasure of discussing the project that's making a notable difference in the lives of adolescent girls and teen mothers!💫 CRVPF's generous donation is making a huge difference in the lives of adolescent girls by establishing safe spaces in schools and community.
Our discussion centered on the amazing success we've seen with the establishment of safe spaces for in-school adolescent girls and teen mothers in Kirkos Sub-city, Addis Ababa. These spaces are safe where young women can learn, grow, and connect with others, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment🤍
During the meeting, we explored opportunities to expand these vital safe spaces to reach a wider segment of the Ethiopian community, ensuring comprehensive support is available to more adolescent girls and teen mothers. We are genuinely enthusiastic about the potential impact of this collaborative effort and remain committed to working alongside CRVPF to achieve our shared goals🤝
