Dambi Dollo University Launches Teachers’ Association
In a significant move to enhance academic quality and safeguard the professional interests and rights of its academic staff, Dambi Dollo University has officially launched its Teachers’ Association on the 25th of September 2025.
The inauguration ceremony was held on campus and attended by university officials, deans, and faculty representatives. The event marks a major milestone in organizing the university’s educators into a unified body dedicated to advancing their collective interests and supporting institutional development.
Dr. Reda Nemo, Vice President for Academic Research, Technology Transfer, and Community Service, delivered the opening remarks. In his speech, he emphasized that the establishment of the Dambi Dollo University Teachers’ Association represents a shared commitment to improving the quality of education, increasing research productivity, and achieving the university’s broader academic mission.
The event also featured remarks from Dr. Dembelash Mengistu, Vice President of the Teachers’ Association of Ethiopian Universities. He provided insightful guidance on the purpose, structure, and importance of Teachers’ Associations within the Ethiopian higher education system.
After discussion and having debated on various issues,
the election process was conducted in a transparent and democratic manner, reflecting the association’s commitment to fairness, accountability, and inclusive representation.
