CORHA Successfully Holds Its 6th Annual SRHR Conference
The Consortium of Reproductive Health Associations (CORHA) successfully hosted its 6th Annual Conference on March 6, 2026 at Sheraton Addis under the theme:
“Integrating SRHR with Climate Adaptation and Resilience.”
The conference brought together representatives from government institutions, civil society organizations, the private sector, knowledge institutions, scholars, and experts working on SRHR, gender, and climate change. The event was organized in collaboration with the Population Health Environment Ethiopia Consortium (PHE-EC).
In his opening remarks, Abebe Kebede, Executive Director, welcomed distinguished guests including Koffie Kouame, Country Representative of United Nations Population Fund Ethiopia, and Mario Fanjul from the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, along with other government officials, partners, and stakeholders.
Through two panel discussions, participants explored the critical role of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in strengthening climate adaptation and building gender-responsive resilience in Ethiopia. The discussions also emphasized the importance of mobilizing civil society organizations in preparation for COP32, which will be hosted in Ethiopia. Key recommendations included grassroots engagement, evidence-based advocacy, policy dialogue, and strengthened national and global partnerships.
During the conference, nine individuals were honored for their over 40 years of dedication and contribution to advancing population and reproductive health in Ethiopia.
CORHA also expressed gratitude to government partners including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Women and Social Affairs, Ministry of Planning and Development, and the Authority for Civil Society Organizations, as well as partners such as United Nations Population Fund, Ipas, Plan International, MSI-RC, Engender Health and many others for their continued technical and financial support.
