Celebrating International Women’s Day with Girls at Kolefe Comprehensive Secondary School

The Consortium of Reproductive Health Associations (CORHA), in partnership with the Ministry of Education, the Addis Ababa Bureau of Education and Health, and with the financial support of UNFPA and the Norwegian Embassy, celebrated International Women’s Day at Kolefe Comprehensive Secondary School together with female students.

The event was organized to empower girls and strengthen their knowledge on key health issues affecting their lives. During the celebration, awareness sessions were conducted on menstrual hygiene management (MHM) and cervical cancer prevention, emphasizing the importance of proper hygiene practices, early screening, and timely health-seeking behavior. Interactive discussions allowed students to ask questions and openly share their experiences in a supportive environment.

This initiative reflects CORHA’s continued commitment to promoting adolescent girls’ health, dignity, and empowerment through education and partnership. By raising awareness in schools, we aim to contribute to healthier communities and support girls to confidently pursue their education and future goals.

Together, we can continue to empower girls and advance reproductive health for all. 💜
