As midwives, we celebrate Mother’s Day every day in our hearts. We walk beside mothers throughout their journey during antenatal care follow-up, labor and childbirth, postnatal care, and while providing immunization services for their children.

Through every stage of life, we deeply value and honor mothers for their strength, love, and sacrifice. Above all, we are proud and happy when Mother’s Day is celebrated globally, recognizing the priceless role of mothers everywhere.

We, midwives, remain always ready to serve with compassion and action.

💊 Prenatal Vitamins: Think of these as your "gap-fillers." Even with a great diet, your body is working overtime. These vitamins ensure you have enough folic acid and iron to support baby's brain and blood development.

🥗 Nutritious Diet: You’re not just eating for two; you’re eating for your health and baby’s growth! Focusing on colorful fruits, veggies, lean proteins, and whole grains gives you the steady energy you need to keep up with all the changes happening inside.

🏊 Regular Exercise: Staying active—whether it’s a gentle swim, a brisk walk, or prenatal yoga—is amazing for your mood and circulation. It helps your body stay strong and can even make your recovery smoother later on.

🧘 Stress Management: Your peace of mind matters. Taking a few minutes to breathe deeply or meditate helps keep your cortisol levels low, creating a calm "home" for your baby to grow in.

💧 Hydrate Well: Water is the "delivery system" for your baby’s nutrients. Staying hydrated helps maintain your amniotic fluid levels and keeps common pregnancy discomforts, like swelling or headaches, at a manageable level.

☕ Limit Caffeine: You don't have to give up your morning ritual entirely, but keeping it in moderation helps keep both your and baby’s heart rates at a comfortable, steady pace.

🩺 Health Checkups: These are your milestones! Regular visits to your doctor or midwife ensure that both you and your baby are hitting your targets and staying on track.

You are doing an amazing job, Mama. Every healthy choice you make is a "love letter" to the little person you haven't met yet. Keep learning, keep breathing, and trust your journey. 🌸

Nuchal cord is a condition where the umbilical cord wraps around the baby's neck before or during delivery.

* Single loop (most common)
* Multiple loops (double, triple)
* Loose vs tight nuchal cord

common is it? *Occurs in ~20-30% of deliveries
*Usually not dangerous

does it happen?
* Long umbilical cord
* Excess fetal movements
*High amniotic fluid
* Smaller babies with more space to move.

Effects on the baby
babies are fine, but possible issues include:
*Mild reduction in oxygen (rare)
* Variable fetal heart rate decelerations
* Rarely: birth complications if tightly wrapped

* Sometimes seen on ultrasound with Doppler *Often only discovered during delivery

during labor
* Check for cord around the neck after the head is delivered
* If loose gently slip it over the baby's head
* If tight → clamp and cut before full delivery

to worry
* Persistent abnormal fetal heart rate
* Tight multiple loops
* Signs of fetal distress

A nuchal cord is common and usually harmless, but needs careful monitoring during labor.

is a remarkable process that provides essential nourishment for your baby. It starts with milk production, where your body creates milk in response to hormonal signals. Once produced, the milk is stored in small sacs within the breast, ready for release when the baby nurses. Milk release is triggered by the baby’s suckling, signaling the body to release milk, providing the baby with the perfect amount for growth and nutrition. As your baby nurses, they receive not just food, but comfort and bonding, making this experience invaluable. It’s a cycle that’s designed to nurture both mother and child in profound ways. Whether you're experiencing breastfeeding for the first time or continuing to nurse, it’s important to recognize the miracle of this natural process. Cherish every moment as you provide your baby with the best possible start in life.
