Positive Action for Development (PAD) is a charity organization focused on improving the lives of disadvantaged groups in Eastern Ethiopia. Through four assignments with Catalyste+, PAD strengthened its organization and community impact. Their success includes developing monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems for their shelter cluster, conducting a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis, implementing an employee work plan, hiring more women in leadership roles, and strengthening fundraising and marketing strategies.

Over the past two weeks, our advisor CA Lynne Brennan delivered life skills training to two groups of 20 beneficiaries at our partner organization, Addis Hiwot Center of the Blind.
The Center works to empower individuals who have experienced vision loss later in life supporting them as they adjust to their new reality, rebuild their self-confidence, and work toward becoming active, accepted members of their community.
Thanks to the training, participants gained valuable tools to express themselves, build friendships, and engage more confidently in their surroundings.
✨ Here are some moments captured from the training!

We’re excited to share that our assignment with Nexus Ethiopia has successfully wrapped up! With the support of our advisor, CA Raymond Kingdon, the team explored and developed solutions for an online project management tool to enhance their impactful HDP Nexus (Humanitarian-Development-Peace) programming.
To show their appreciation, the Nexus team surprised CA Ray with a heartfelt farewell—complete with a cake, and thoughtful traditional Ethiopian gifts. It was a beautiful way to celebrate a meaningful collaboration.
Huge thanks to everyone who made this assignment a success!

Happy International Women’s Day!

At Catalyste+ Ethiopia, we are committed to achieving gender equality and advancing women’s economic empowerment. Through our three pillars—access to resources, agency, and enabling environments—we work to create opportunities where women can thrive, lead, and succeed.
Together, we are building a future where every woman has the tools to shape her own success.

At the beginning of January 2025, we worked on an impactful assignment with our partner, Cheshire Ethiopia. Our Catalyste+ Advisor, CA Janice Link, led a hybrid training on transformational leadership and the theory of change.

Reflecting on her experience, CA Janice shared how warmly she was welcomed with kindness and hospitality. She also highlighted how meaningful it was to visit the rehabilitation center in Menagesha and see firsthand the life-changing services and assistive devices provided to people with disabilities. She was especially moved by the dedication of the staff and their commitment to supporting children.

📸 Check out some highlights from her visit in the photos below!
