After losing his dad to a heart attack, Bobby Palmieri knew he wanted to make a difference. Just weeks after his loss, Bobby, who was only 10 at the time, raised more than $2,000 for the American Heart Association through the sale of red “have a heart” bracelets. But that was just the beginning. Bobby, now a junior entrepreneurship student, yearned to provide scholarships to students who have lost a parent to heart disease. To realize his dream, he founded the Have a Heart nonprofit organization. Through his foundation, he hosts events to educate others on heart health. Bobby has raised $16,000 in the last year through merchandise sales as well as donations. His nonprofit organization will award the first scholarship this fall. Dare to have a heart.
