The young female we trapped at the beginning of the week is finally out of the vets and recovering after a tough few days post-surgery. We also have two other cats currently needing meds, one for worms and another needing a course of antibiotics. Thanks for all your support! ❤️

Since launching the project in the second week of February, we’ve made great progress in improving the welfare of the cats in our community.
So far, we have successfully trapped and neutered 5 cats:
2 males
3 females
This is an important step in helping to control the local cat population in a humane and responsible way, while also improving the health and wellbeing of the cats.
We will continue the effort over the coming weeks and appreciate the support of our local community.

After a short break for vets holidays and Semana Santa, We put the trap out this morning and we've caught a young black and white cat, not sure what s*x it is, but it's been taken to the vets in La Mojonera.

Update. Our 3rd cat was a young male, he's been neutered and released this evening. 🐈‍⬛️

🐾 Golf Community Cat Welfare Project – Update 🐾

Good news today!

Our usual vet is currently on holiday, so Maica has been working hard to find an alternative vet to help us continue the project while we wait for our regular vet to return. Because of this delay, we haven’t been able to set the trap out until now.

Today the trap was finally placed out — and it worked!

We have safely trapped an 8-month-old female cat, who will now be taken to the vet to be spayed as part of our Trap–Neuter–Return (TNR) program. This is an important step in preventing more unwanted litters and helping stabilise the colony.

A big thank you to Maica for her persistence in finding another vet and keeping the project moving forward.

We’ll keep you posted with the next update! 🐱
