The Royal British Legion Nerja Branch invites you to two Poppy Appeal events:

POPPY WALK
Sunday, 11 October 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
Al-Andalus Hotel, Maro

Choose a gentle walk around Maro village or a more adventurous trek to the Torre de Maro. A buffet, raffle and games will follow. Everyone is welcome. All proceeds benefit the Poppy Appeal.

The Caves Restaurant, Maro

Includes a welcome drink and canapés, a three-course dinner with wine and water, and entertainment by Laura Elen.

ROYAL BRITISH LEGION – SEPTEMBER QUIZ NIGHT

Join us for a fun evening of quiz, food, prizes and great company!

Tuesday 8 September
Lew’s Fish & Chip Restaurant, Torrox Costa
Arrive 6:30pm | Quiz starts 7:00pm

€13 per person, including quiz entry and a fish, chips and mushy peas supper. Alternative menu available.

Teams of 4. Individuals and couples are very welcome and can be matched into teams.

Prizes for 1st and 2nd place, plus a raffle.

The RBL’s La Herradura lunch in September will be held at Nuevo Arenas Restaurante on Friday the 4th. The usual timings apply: 1:00 p.m. arrival for lunch at 1:30 p.m.

Keep in mind that additional parking that can be reached by taking a right turn near the pharmacy as you approach the restaurant.
Given the extremely warm weather, please feel free to dress a little more casually.

The menu will include homemade pâté, followed by salmon with a spicy mango sauce, lemon mousse and coffee. Wine and water will be provided on the tables.

The cost is €19 per member or €21 per non-member.

Join the Royal British Legion for our Armed Forces Day lunch at the Al Andalus Hotel, Maro, on Thursday, June 25.

This will be a very special lunch, as we will be joined by Major Del Hamilton and his wife Tina. Major Hamilton is the officer commanding of the Personnel Recovery Centre, our chosen charity, and we will be presenting him with a check for 12,000€.

Our usual timings apply, with welcome drinks and canapes from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by lunch.

The menu will be tropical salad, followed by tenderloin of pork with mushroom sauce, roast potatoes, and seasonal vegetables, then raspberry cake and coffee. Wine and water will be on the tables.

The cost is 18€ for members and 20€ for non-members.

The RBL's La Herradura lunch in June at Nuevo Arenas Restaurante will take place on Friday the 5th. The usual timings apply, with arrival at 1pm for a 1:30pm luncheon start.

The menu will be Avocado and Prawn Salad, followed by Roasted Chicken with Rosemary and Thyme, then Lemon Mousse, and coffee to finish. Wine and water will be on the tables.

The cost is 19€ for members and 21€ for non-members.

Let’s welcome the summer with a “Dress Down Friday,” so feel free to wear something bright and cheerful.

🎉 RBL May Quiz Night 🎉

Join us for a fantastic evening at Lew’s Fish and Chip Restaurant, Torrox Costa, on Tuesday 12th May! Arrive from 6:30pm for a 7:00pm quiz start.

Expect a great quiz, great prizes, great food, and—most importantly—great company. Teams of 4 are ideal, but don’t worry if you’re coming alone or as a pair—we’ll make up teams where needed.

There are prizes for 1st and 2nd place! Entry is €26 per couple or €13 per individual, which includes the quiz and a delicious fish, chips and mushy peas supper (alternative menu available). There will also be a raffle on the night.
