Join the Royal British Legion for our Armed Forces Day lunch at the Al Andalus Hotel, Maro, on Thursday, June 25.

This will be a very special lunch, as we will be joined by Major Del Hamilton and his wife Tina. Major Hamilton is the officer commanding of the Personnel Recovery Centre, our chosen charity, and we will be presenting him with a check for 12,000€.

Our usual timings apply, with welcome drinks and canapes from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by lunch.

The menu will be tropical salad, followed by tenderloin of pork with mushroom sauce, roast potatoes, and seasonal vegetables, then raspberry cake and coffee. Wine and water will be on the tables.

The cost is 18€ for members and 20€ for non-members.

The RBL's La Herradura lunch in June at Nuevo Arenas Restaurante will take place on Friday the 5th. The usual timings apply, with arrival at 1pm for a 1:30pm luncheon start.

The menu will be Avocado and Prawn Salad, followed by Roasted Chicken with Rosemary and Thyme, then Lemon Mousse, and coffee to finish. Wine and water will be on the tables.

The cost is 19€ for members and 21€ for non-members.

Let’s welcome the summer with a “Dress Down Friday,” so feel free to wear something bright and cheerful.

🎉 RBL May Quiz Night 🎉

Join us for a fantastic evening at Lew’s Fish and Chip Restaurant, Torrox Costa, on Tuesday 12th May! Arrive from 6:30pm for a 7:00pm quiz start.

Expect a great quiz, great prizes, great food, and—most importantly—great company. Teams of 4 are ideal, but don’t worry if you’re coming alone or as a pair—we’ll make up teams where needed.

There are prizes for 1st and 2nd place! Entry is €26 per couple or €13 per individual, which includes the quiz and a delicious fish, chips and mushy peas supper (alternative menu available). There will also be a raffle on the night.

The RBL La Herradura lunch in May at Nuevo Arenas Restaurante is on Friday, May 8th. Usual timings will be observed, with arrival at 1:00 pm for a 1:30 pm luncheon commencement.

The menu includes asparagus and ham au gratin, salmon with a spicy mango sauce, cheesecake, and coffee. Wine and water will be on the tables.

The cost for the luncheon is 19€ per member or 21€ per non-member.

The Royal British Legion is delighted to announce April’s Quiz Night, taking place at Lew’s Fish and Chip Restaurant in Torrox Costa on Tuesday, April 14th. As always, doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the quiz starting promptly at 7:00 p.m.

Come along for an evening filled with fun, friendly competition, wonderful prizes, delicious food, and great company! Teams of four are ideal, but individuals and pairs are very welcome and will be organized into teams on the night. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place teams.

The cost is €26 per couple or €13 per individual, which includes quiz entry and a classic fish, chip, and mushy pea supper (alternative menu options available). A raffle will also be held during the evening.

The Royal British Legion’s La Herradura lunch in April will be held on the second Friday of the month. We’ll meet at Nueva Arenas Restaurante on Friday, April 10th.

We’ll gather at 1:00 p.m. for a 1:30 p.m. luncheon. The menu includes vegetable soup with a roll, lasagna, ice cream cake, and coffee, with wine and water on the tables. The price is €19 for members and €21 for non-members.

Message from the Chairman:

The Chairman's request is that everyone refrain from discussing politics and religion at any of the RBL events, in order to prevent potential conflicts arising from differing views. These conversations, if they occur, can be upsetting not only for those directly involved but also for others nearby. He stresses that all committee members should adhere to this also.

Just a reminder that everyone is welcome at Royal British Legion Nerja Branch lunches, quizzes, and special annual functions—you do not need to have served in the military or have any connection to it.
