🔥🔥THE BEACONS ARE LIT!🔥🔥 The next Middle-earth film has been announced! From a joint video from Peter Jackson and Stephen Colbert, the next film, currently titled The Lord of the Rings: Shadow of the Past has the following synopsis: “Fourteen years after the passing of Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin set out to retrace the first steps of their adventure. Meanwhile, Sam’s daughter, Elanor, has discovered a long-buried secret and is determined to uncover why the War of the Ring was very nearly lost before it even began.”

This sounds really awesome, and from the video Colbert, who is writing the film with his son and collaborating with Middle-earth veteran Philippa Boyens, says the film will adapt the three chapters from The Fellowship of the Ring novel that cover the Old Forest, Tom Bombadil, and the dreaded Barrow Downs, while staying true to the films.
