Sunny Shores Dog Rescue - Spain

Sunny Shores Dog Rescue - Spain A small but mighty independent dog rescue based in Malaga Spain. Founded in 2015 with 30+ years experience. We rehome all over the UK and EU.

Predominantly rescuing PPP bull breeds but helping them all when we can. Formerly Hampshire Hounds Dog Rescue and The PPPK , we merged in June 2020. Sunny Shores Dog Rescue will always be a CIO charity. We will remain volunteers and no one will profit from the misfortune of neglected and abandoned dogs. We have kennel facilities in Spain and are foster based in and around the Lymington/New Forest

area in UK. We are all dog owners, dog lovers and have been friends for many years. We have all volunteered for rescues and various organisations, adopted, fostered and donated. We have witnessed puppy farming, helped investigations of dog fighting rings, reported Back Yard Breeders to HMRC, we've seen it all! Our experience spans 80+ years. OUR AIM
Our aim is to continue to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome as many dogs as possible, all with full assessments, health checks and with full RBU throughout Europe and the UK. Only UK legal dogs will travel to the UK and only when they have a 5 star home that has been checked and approved by the trustees. We will not send dogs to fosters from outside of their geographical origin. We will continue to try and help other rescuers, rescue groups and charities, as we have done for many years. Thanks to established relationships with these people we hope to provide a proverbial light at the end of the tunnel to dogs who need and deserve a wonderful home but are simply not being shown to the right audience. With regards to the UK side of the operation, we will continue to assist and provide a service to the public as our mission states. The dogs will be cared for in foster homes in the New Forest area and be rehomed throughout the UK. We will continue our education programmes and help to relieve the suffering of dogs due to ignorance and neglect. We will never make anyone feel ashamed that they have to surrender their dog nor will we ever charge them a fee. In Spain we have the facilities to ensure that the dogs are rescued and assessed to ensure that the forever home is a perfect fit, or at least as perfect as it is humanly possible to guarantee and with a less than 5% failure rate in 2019 we are confident that we are doing the very best we can. This year to date, 2020 has shown 0% failures and we hope to maintain that ensuring happy, healthy dogs find loving homes where they will be loved and treated as part of the family for the rest of their days. We will continue to update our followers and supporters daily and hope that you will all stay with us and also that you will invite your friends and families to our page and website.

🏡🙏🏻 FOR ADOPTION — PERLA 🦪❤️

Please take a few minutes to read Perla’s story to the end.

When we moved to our current location in August 2021, every dog in our care came with us.
Among them were Perla and Stoker.

More than four years later, incredibly, they are both still here waiting.

Perla, a blue and white Staffy cross, was originally found wandering in the countryside with a young male dog.
They were taken to private kennels and initially shared an enclosure, but it soon became clear that the male was very dominant and his behaviour towards Perla was becoming aggressive.

We were asked if we could take Perla into Sunny Shores, and of course we agreed.

When she arrived, Perla was understandably nervous around both people and other dogs.
Her physical condition, along with the obvious signs that she had been used for breeding, suggested that life hadn't always been particularly kind to her.

We gave her time.
Slowly we gained her trust, and as the weeks and months passed, her confidence began to grow.

Eventually, we introduced her to our Stoker, a large male American Bully who we knew to be calm, sociable and non-aggressive.
They immediately got along and eventually moved into a shared pen, where they have remained companions ever since.

But now it really is Perla's turn.

Nearly six years old, Perla is still waiting for the one thing she has never had — a home and family of her own.

Perla is neutered, microchipped and has a full EU Pet Passport.
She will also be fully re- tested for all Mediterranean diseases before she leaves.

We feel she would thrive in a calm home, possibly as an only dog, although she could potentially live alongside a calm, easy-going male.

Whatever happened during Perla's early years will always be part of her story, but it doesn't define the dog she is today.
With time, patience, love and experience, she has become a wonderful dog to be around.

She loves her walks.
She loves human company.

And after spending so much of her life in kennels, she deserves the opportunity to discover all the ordinary things most dogs take for granted — a comfortable bed, a home, companionship and someone who is there for her every day.

We won't pretend that Perla is a dog who will simply walk through the door and immediately understand family life.
There will be things she has never experienced before and things she will need help and reassurance with.
But if you're someone who enjoys watching a dog learn, grow and discover new sights, smells and sounds, the rewards will be enormous.

Here at Sunny Shores, we have taken Perla as far as we can.
Now she needs someone to take that next step with her and give her the chance to reach her full potential.

After more than four years of waiting, we really hope 2026 can finally be Perla's year ❤️

🖤🖤🩷 MOLLY 🩷🖤🖤
It will soon be two years since Molly was discovered alone on a track in the campo. She had nothing but a piece of twine around her neck, was in a terrible condition and was heavily pregnant.
Thankfully, Molly was brought to safety at Sunny Shores, but shortly afterwards came an absolutely heartbreaking chapter in her story. She gave birth to her litter, only for every one of her puppies to die from Parvovirus within a devastating 24-hour period.
Since that awful time, Molly has quietly settled into life and the daily routine here at Sunny Shores. She has blossomed into a beautiful, gentle girl who absolutely adores human company.
Like all our dogs, Molly looks forward to her daily treats, and her gorgeous long black coat is now healthy, shiny and positively glowing. Her summer moult this year was quite spectacular to say the least — we are fairly certain there was enough fur to make another Molly! 😂🖤
But what Molly really needs now isn't another summer or winter with us. She needs a home of her own.
Molly is a wonderfully affectionate girl who loves human interaction and companionship. She is naturally low energy and doesn't need endless miles of walking or a particularly active lifestyle. When she does go out, she walks beautifully on the lead and is an absolute pleasure to take for a stroll.
We can picture Molly perfectly this winter: curled up contentedly on a rug in front of a fire or stretched out beside a warm radiator, knowing that she finally has a family and a place to call her own. ❤️
We feel Molly would make a wonderful companion for a mature person or household, or simply someone looking for a calmer dog who doesn't require lots of exercise. She would happily be by your side, enjoying the simple things in life — company, affection, a comfortable bed, gentle walks and, naturally, plenty of treats!
A quiet, loving home is essential for Molly. After everything this beautiful girl has been through, she deserves security, kindness and the chance to spend the rest of her life knowing she belongs.
🐾 Molly has her EU Pet Passport and is ready to leave Sunny Shores for her forever home.
A home check, video interview and adoption donation apply. First-class transport directly to your front door can be arranged at an additional cost.
Could Molly be the girl you've been looking for?
Please email [email protected] for an information sheet and application form.
And if you aren't in a position to adopt Molly yourself, please share her post. Somewhere out there could be the person with the warm rug, the radiator and the loving home Molly has waited almost two years to find.
You never know who's looking. 🙏🏻❤️🐾

❤️FOR ADOPTION
LUCY🐾❤️

Our gorgeous Lucy has come such a long way since arriving at Sunny Shores, and every day we are seeing a little more of the wonderful girl hiding beneath her difficult past.
Lucy came to us a couple of months ago after being rescued from life on a heavy chain. She showed obvious signs of having recently had a litter and, sadly, we suspect there have probably been several others during her short life.
After giving her plenty of time to settle into her new surroundings and routine, we took Lucy to our vet for her blood tests, vaccinations, microchip and passport. Our vet estimates her to be only around two to three years old.
Her blood tests revealed that Lucy was suffering from a slight case of Tick Fever, but thankfully she tested clear for all other Mediterranean diseases. She is now nearly at the end of her course of medication and is doing really well.
Physically, the improvement is wonderful to see. Her underside is looking so much better, her general condition has improved enormously and she seems to look healthier with every passing day thanks to plenty of good-quality, regular food and care.
But perhaps the biggest change has been in Lucy herself. ❤️
Once incredibly hand-shy, Lucy is really beginning to relax around people and is learning that human hands can bring kindness rather than something to fear. She now thoroughly enjoys a fuss — and if that fuss happens to include a belly rub, even better! 🥰
For now, Lucy is simply enjoying some well-deserved chill-out time. She particularly loves her quiet one-to-one time with a human, where she can soak up all the attention at her own pace.
And then, of course, there's food... Lucy absolutely LOVES her food! 😂❤️
Alongside her regular meals, her daily treat might be a few sardines, some kefir, a raw egg in its shell, a generous dollop of good-quality wet meat or some of Tracey's homemade marrow bone broth, along with a generous splash or pure Salmon oil, which all of our dogs here at Sunny Shores enjoy every day.
Once Lucy has finished her medication and is ready, she will be spayed. After recovering from her operation, this beautiful girl will finally be ready for adoption and the next chapter of her life. 🏡❤️
For the moment, there is no rush. Lucy has spent enough of her young life being used for other people's purposes.
Right now, it's Lucy's time.
Time to relax.
Time to heal.
Time to enjoy good food.
Time to discover belly rubs.
And most importantly, time to learn just how good life can actually be. ❤️
Please share for gorgeous Lucy and help us make sure that, when the time comes, her forever family is waiting for her. 🙏🏻🐾 [email protected]

🏡🙏🏻 FOR ADOPTION ❤️🐾
🇪🇸 🇬🇧 🇪🇺
🤎🤎💙 RIPP 💙🤎🤎
Ripp is a 2-year-old Pocket Bully with a huge personality packed into a very small frame.
We're delighted to say that this little boy is really coming on in leaps and bounds — admittedly, very short leaps and not much of a bound, but impressive nonetheless given his stature and leg length! 😄🐾
Ripp originally came to us as a breeder surrender. He was an extremely shy, nervous and hand-shy little boy who preferred to keep his distance from people. He showed no signs of aggression unless unnecessarily pushed beyond his comfort zone, but human interaction was something he simply didn't understand or trust.
What a difference we're seeing now. ❤️
Ripp is actively seeking out human interaction rather than shying away from it. He now loves being stroked and groomed and will happily enjoy a fuss — something that would have been almost unimaginable when he first arrived.
And then there's breakfast time! 😂
Ripp has developed his own funny little pre-breakfast dance, making absolutely sure everyone knows he's ready and waiting for his food. It's another little glimpse of the character that was hidden away beneath all that nervousness.
For a boy who was once so wary of hands and human contact, this is a massive turnaround, and we're incredibly proud of how far he has come.
That doesn't mean Ripp will walk into a new home and immediately behave as though he's lived there forever. His new family will need to give him time, patience and space to settle. The first days and weeks may have their challenges while he learns that he's safe again, but we've now seen exactly what is waiting on the other side of that uncertainty.
And the end result will be worth every bit of patience and effort.
Ripp doesn't need a home offering huge amounts of physical exercise. What he needs most is a safe, quiet and warm home, with a private, secure enclosed garden or even a secure terrace, where he can happily mooch around, inside and outside, at his own pace.
Once he feels secure and learns to trust his surroundings, Ripp will reward that patience with affection, personality and so much love. From there, as his confidence continues to grow, he can gradually begin venturing further afield and enjoying walks.
Ripp is ready to travel, wherever that wonderful home may be. 🙏🏻❤️
📧 Please email [email protected] for an information sheet and application form.
Is Ripp the boy for you?
Do you know someone whose home and lifestyle would be perfect for him?
If you can't offer Ripp a home yourself, please share his post. Somewhere out there is exactly the person this funny, gentle little character has been waiting for. ❤️🐾

Please meet Keaves! ❤️

We would like to introduce you to Keaves, a three-year-old boy who, through no fault of his own, found himself with nowhere to go.
Keaves is a Blue XL American Bully with the most amazing eyes and a personality and temperament to match.
Following a change in his owners’ circumstances, Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) in the UK meant that Keaves could not simply be rehomed within Great Britain. Through a third party, his owners reached out to us, and arrangements were made for Keaves to travel safely to Sunny Shores Dog Rescue here in Spain.
Keaves has now been with us for a month. During that time, we have allowed him to settle at his own pace, adjust to his new surroundings and begin looking forward to the next chapter of his life — hopefully in a country where he can be assessed as an individual dog rather than judged solely by his appearance or measurements.
And what have we learned about him?
Keaves is a big, strong and thoroughly food-motivated boy. He is excellent on his walks, loves his food and has shown no aggression towards either people or the other dogs in our care.
At just three years old, Keaves would undoubtedly benefit from some additional training and continued guidance. Fortunately, his enthusiasm for treats should make training considerably easier!
Keaves is:
3 years old
Neutered
Microchipped
Fully vaccinated
Holder of a full EU Pet Passport
For adoption within Spain, a PPP licence will be required. Keaves can also be considered for suitable homes in the Netherlands, Belgium or Finland.
Sadly, Keaves cannot be rehomed back into the UK, but that doesn't mean his perfect home isn't out there.
Could Keaves be the boy for you?
If you believe you could offer Keaves the secure, loving and responsible home he deserves, please email [email protected] to request an application form.
And please share his story. You may not be able to offer Keaves a home yourself, but somebody on your friends list just might be the person he has been waiting for

🏡🙏🏻 FOR ADOPTION 🙏🏻🏡
💙🤍🤎🖤RICO🖤🤎🤍💙
Rico - 4 year old male Bodeguero.
Untested with cats.
Can live with a non-dominant female dog or as the only dog.
Older children only +12.
Currently located in Spain

Rico is a 4 year old Bodeguero, a traditional Spanish breed. He is a leggy Bod compared to some. The breed was once used for keeping the wine/sherry cellars rodent free. He found himself in the local perrera/pound and doesn't know why his family abandoned him there. Rico is a lovely boy he is very affectionate, walks well on the lead and lived with a younger female, until she was adopted. Rico is spotlessly clean and not vocal. Rico, when he's not cuddled up close to you, would make a great family dog and an even better walking/rambling buddy. Is Rico the one for you? He is located in Spain and is ready to travel anywhere that loving home awaits. If you're not in a position to adopt right now could you share this post for Rico? You never know who's reading it. Adoption enquiries by email to [email protected] and we will send you an information sheet and application form. Thank you ❤️🐾
