Yet, despite progress, women and girls still face barriers rooted in outdated gender stereotypes that limit their potential in these crucial fields.
Through our project’s STEAM approach, we are breaking down these barriers by fostering creativity, critical thinking, and inclusivity, empowering women and girls to thrive in STEM environments.
On this important day, we recognize the brilliance, creativity, and resilience of women and girls in STEM.

💥🌍The fight against climate change has become a global priority. It is necessary to empower all members of society to engage in climate action.💪

From devastating forest fires to dramatic floods, the year 2024 was marked by a series of environmental catastrophes. At the same time, at the UN Climate Change Conference COP29 in Baku, world leaders met to accelerate effort to keep the clean energy boom growing and climate action, protecting billions of lives.

Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) is a term adopted by the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change to denote work under article 6 of the Convention and article 12 of the Paris Agreement. The ACE elements are climate change education and public awareness, training, public participation, public access to information, and international cooperation on these issues

Even though our project ended, the Neutral-Schools team committed to continue to join efforts to raise awareness and educate about the need for climate action and empowerment, because international cooperation is fundamental to tackling these global challenges.

📚 🌍 Education, especially for children and youth, is a key factor in helping to curb climate change. 📚 🌍
Climate-related knowledge helps young people to understand and deal with the consequences of global warming, encourages them to change their behaviour and helps them to adapt to what is already a global emergency.

NEUTRAL-SCHOOLS Project tries to support teachers by providing them with some innovative materials, produced as Open Educational Resources (OER), such as a METHODOLOGICAL GUIDE, a permanent TEACHERS’ TRAINING PLAN, a GUIDE FOR SCHOOLS TO ORGANIZE C-NEUTRAL EVENTS, and other tools for the teaching-learning process linked to the global challenge of mitigation, adaptation and fight against climate change.

📣 Our results are ready ‼️ Today we present one of the pillars and fundamental project results: the EDUCATIONAL CURRICULUM on the challenge of climate change and the innovation and action necessary for a Carbon neutral future (Primary and Secondary levels).

📗🆓The Curriculum includes the objectives, sequence of competences, content units and the educational strategies (activities and methodological techniques) to be used to facilitate the appropriate approach to the contents and facilitate the educational process, structured around several thematic blocks and modules.🌍🚲🏠🌱♻️

👩‍🏫🧑‍🏫The final goal of NeutralSchools project is to support school teachers by providing them with innovative materials, methods and tools for the teaching-learning process linked to the global challenge of mitigation, adaptation and fight against climate change.

😢🖤💧 All our support and affection for the people who are suffering from the tragic floods of the last days in Spain, specially for those who have lost their loved ones.

This extreme weather, with devastating rains and floods in Spain, reminds us of the urgency of climate action. Experts warn that intense, unusual rainfall events will likely become more frequent and severe in a changing climate, leading to more damage and disruption.

Under the NEUTRAL SCHOOLS project, which is finalizing the development of educational resources for the school community, we are committed to raising awareness on climate action—a crucial step in addressing climate change and building resilience to its impacts. 🌱 This is a call to action. Reducing our carbon footprint, adopting sustainable habits, and supporting green policies can help us make a difference and protect our communities and ecosystems from escalating climate threats.

🌍📚 Exciting news from NEUTRAL SCHOOLS project: Multiplier Events to disseminate project results 📚🌍
Over the past weeks, several events were held in Spain, Greece, and Portugal to present and share the project’s results. These events were essential to ensure the training materials and educational tools designed for Primary, Secondary, and other education sectors can continue to be used beyond the project’s lifetime.
👩‍🏫👨‍🏫 Participants had the opportunity to evaluate these materials, learn more about the project, and contribute to raising awareness of the crucial role schools play in addressing climate change.
🌿✨ A sustainable future starts with education! Supporting teachers and schools to train environmentally committed citizens and promote the energy transition is key in the fight against climate change.

🌍🍽️ WORLD FOOD DAY, celebrated on 16th October. Healthy food, healthy planet, healthy future.

In the lesson plans and learning situations designed within our Neutral Schools project, we have included these crucial topics to spread awareness about the importance of sustainable agriculture, maintaining a nutritious and healthy diet, and reducing food wastage. These efforts are key contributions toward achieving a Carbon-neutral future and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Together, we can make a difference for ourselves and for the generations to come. Together, we can also vow to lead a hunger-free planet.
