Nuestro objetivo principal es fomentar la conciencia marina a través de la educación, talleres y limpiezas de playas y fondos. io marino. El festival incluirá actividades como: una limpieza de playas y fondos en colaboración con Medio Ambiente, información sobre temas marinos, actividades para niños, música en vivo, etc. Nuestra Visión:
El Festival del Mar de La Herradura se crea como evento anual dirigido a distintas edades y nacionalidades en homenaje al mar. Queremos darle a la gente la oportunidad de conectar con el medio marino de una forma más personal y enamorarse de él. Nuestro enfoque está en cómo podemos contribuir al bienestar del medio marino y sus habitantes como seres vivos. Generalmente, la gente busca formas de aprovechar aún mas los recursos marinos. En el Festival, queremos invertir esta forma de pensar. Queremos inspirar a la gente a encontrar formas de devolverle algo al mar y demostrar su aprecio por él. We are Asociación Amigos Del Mar, a non-profit, ocean conservationalist group founded in Costa Tropical, Spain. Our main goal is to promote marine awareness by various means, such as educating the public with workshops, publicly promoting healthy marine interaction, conducting marine clean ups, beach and sea, and hosting an annual sea festival to show our love and appreciation towards the marine environment.
¿Qué le aportará el festival a la bahía? A nivel práctico, esperamos que la gente se dé cuenta de la necesidad de proteger esta bahía AHORA mientras aún haya algo que proteger. La educación de las generaciones venideras está bien, pero puede que no quede nada para proteger. El festival llamará la atención sobre la situación del medio marino en la bahía y los alrededores. Esperamos que esta conciencia resulte en medidas proactivas, que desemboquen en la regeneración de las especies marinas en la zona dentro de pocos años. Este aumento de vida marina automáticamente impulsará la economía en la zona, puesto que atrae al pueblo más actividades sostenibles como son el turismo de buceo. En resumen: Cuanto más sana sea la vida marina, más sana será la economía cuando la protegemos en vez de dedicarnos a su expolio. ¡Todos nos beneficiamos de esta situación! Queremos que el pueblo se convierta en una referencia por ser pionero en protección eficaz del medio marino. Sencillas medidas de protección pueden conseguir que la bahía se llene nuevamente de vida marina. Cuando pasen unos años y se demuestre la eficacia de estas medidas, La Herradura se hará famosa por dar ejemplo y otros pueblos seguirán sus pasos apostando por estas prácticas exitosas. Y finalmente, esperamos ver el regreso de las tortugas y delfines a las aguas de La Herradura.

Our organization was founded after the successful efforts of the first ever, Sea Festival in 2013, that took place in La Herradura, the brainchild of our Founder Anne Zipse. Her love for the sea fueled her to rally together like-minded individuals who together organized the ocean-based weekend that would become the Sea Festival and later form the form the Asociación Amigos Del Mar. Our focus lies on how can we contribute to the wellbeing of the Sea and its inhabitants as living beings. And more specifically, the bay of La Herradura and the beautiful area we call home. People mostly look for ways to make better use of the Sea; at the Sea Festival, we want to reverse this thinking and inspire people to find ways of giving something back to the Sea, showing their love for the Sea in their own ways. On a practical level, we hope that people will realize the need to protect this bay NOW while there is still something to protect. Education for future generations is great, but there might be nothing left by then. The festival will draw attention to the situation of the marine life in the bay and surroundings. We hope that this awareness will result in proactive protection measures, which will lead to the regeneration of the marine life in the area within only a few years. The increased marine life will automatically boost the economy in the area, as it draws more sustainable activities such as scuba diving tourism to the village. In short: the healthier the marine life, the more prosperity there will be when we protect it instead of exploiting it. This is a win-win situation for all involved! We want the village to become a point of reference for pioneering radical marine life protection, which will evidence the efficiency of some simple measures and when the bay is teeming with life again, people from other places will come to learn how we did it. And finally, it is our hope that we will see the turtles and dolphins return to the waters of La Herradura.
