A century ago, women had to fight for the right to enter professions that shape society — including law, science, veterinary medicine and public life.
This week, Dr Rebeca Garcia Pinillos was honoured to attend an event at the UK Parliament celebrating 10 years since the unveiling of the first female statue in Parliament Square.
Surrounded by women continuing to open doors for others, the moment was a powerful reminder that visibility matters. When women are represented in leadership, science, law, veterinary medicine and advocacy, future generations can imagine themselves there too.
At One Welfare, we believe that creating a fairer future for people, animals and the environment requires inclusive leadership, diverse voices and the courage to challenge barriers across every field.
The pioneers before us opened doors.
The next 100 years depends on how widely we hold them open.
