لماذا قسطاس:
جائت الفكره عقب ثورة الخامس و العشرين من يناير, حينما قرر الشباب ان يخوض حربا ضد الخوف و القمع و تضييق الحريات و الأفواه, و حينما نادي بأبسط حقوقه و حرياته فوجد ردا بالتهميش و الاقصاء و المزيد من تقييد الحريات. و حتي لا يتكرر هذا مجدداً مع تعاقب الحكومات و كتابة القوانين و الدساتير, كان من الضروري أن تنشأ مؤسسة مثل قسطاس كي تمكن المجتمع, و تنشر الثقافة الحقوقية و تحمي الهويه و المرجعية الثقافية للمجتمع و بالتالي يصبح كل فرد في المجتمع واع بحقوقه و حرياته و مدافع عنها. Who are we:
A group of young Arab activists who believe in the values of freedom, and justice. Struggling to build a proactive environment where citizens can fight for their freedom and rights and help others practice and promote their freedom on concrete bases knowledge and understanding of human rights concepts. We also aim at the first place to empower citizens and set them free to be productive and creative in order for those potentials to nurture and prosper on all levels, giving the space for the community to develop and grow. Why Qestas:
The idea came out as a result of the 25th of January revolution, when a group of young citizens decided to fight fear, injustice and restrictions of freedom of expression and got in return a statement of exclusion, hatred and more violence. It was the time when an organization like Qestas had to emerge to prevent more violence to be committed , to support tolerance and to prevent more violations towards human rights whether through new governments, laws, or constitutions. It was a priority to start empowering people, spreading awareness on human rights, and protect the cultural relativity of the community at the same time, thus every citizen can be aware of their rights, forming pressure groups that prevents new governments from committing more violations.
