At Hope Ways ABA Center, we believe that not all communication is spoken 💚 ✨
For many children with autism, communication goes far beyond spoken words. When we only listen for speech, we miss out on an entire world of connection.
Communication is happening every second if we know how to look for it:
✨ Gestures & Leading: Pulling your hand toward a favorite snack or toy.
✨ AAC Devices: Using tablets, picture cards (PECS), or buttons to say "I want."
✨ Echolalia: Repeating words or favorite songs to show joy or request comfort.
✨ Behavior & Body Language: A sudden retreat isn't just a "tantrum"—it is often a profound expression of sensory overload or frustration.
True communication isn’t about forcing a child into our world of speech.. It is about us meeting them in theirs 💙✨
