With the third cohort of the Entrepreneurship Exchange Program concluding its journey, Onsi Sawiris School of Business recently brought together students and mentors from all three cohorts for a debrief and networking lunch.

The Entrepreneurship Exchange Program is an innovative eight-week virtual exchange certificate program that fosters climate entrepreneurship among undergraduate students in Michigan, USA, Egypt, Libya, and Morocco. Delivered in partnership with the William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan, the program promotes cross-cultural collaboration and communication while equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to develop climate-conscious business solutions.

During the event, students reflected on their experiences throughout the program, shared key learnings, and discussed their aspirations for the future. Mentors also reflected on their journeys, offering guidance and encouragement as participants consider their next steps—whether advancing their entrepreneurial ventures or pursuing career paths where the perspectives, skills, and global networks gained through this unique cross-cultural experience can help them thrive.

Representing Egypt on a global stage!

Our Marketing and Entrepreneurship undergraduate students traveled to Hong Kong for the HSBC/HKU Asia Pacific Business Case Challenge 2026, one of the world's largest and most prestigious undergraduate case competitions.

In an enriching experience that took learning far beyond the classroom, our students competed against 24 teams from 20 markets globally and ranked 1st in Division F (Round 3) and 12th overall.

This is exactly what we aim for, exposing our students to global platforms where they can compete, learn, and grow. You've made us proud!

What drives firms toward tax avoidance and what role does CEO personality play in related party transactions?

Professor Moataz El Helaly's latest research takes a closer look at the intersection of corporate behavior, leadership, and financial decision-making, with two papers recently accepted in top-ranked Wiley journals titled:

-Related-Party Transactions, Firm Acquisitiveness and Tax Avoidance Accounting & Finance

-CEO Narcissism and Related Party Transactions Journal of Business Finance & Accounting

Together, these studies advance our understanding of the mechanisms that drive corporate financial decisions, shedding light on the roles of organizational strategy, governance practices, and executive leadership in shaping firm outcomes.

This achievement reflects our commitment to research that advances meaningful conversations in accounting and finance.
