BA - African Youth for Development

BA - African Youth for Development Launched in 2011, this program is part of the SDSP. It aims to open channels of communication between African students and their Egyptian colleagues.

It also allows youth to share their knowledge and experiences and promote Egyptian-African relations.

The BA Sustainable Development Studies, Youth Capacity Building, and African Relations Support Program is organizing a workshop entitled
“Sustainable Development for a Better African Vision”
on Saturday, 24 January 2026, at the Lecture Hall of the Library’s Conference Center.

The workshop aims to build the capacities of young people in the areas of sustainable development. Students from various African countries, such as Sudan, South Sudan, Malawi, Madagascar, Comoros, and Egypt, will take part in the workshop to exchange experiences and ideas and enhance cooperation among the continent's youth.

Nearly 200 students from Alexandria, Cairo, Ain Shams, and Tanta universities are participating in the workshop as part of the “African Youth for Development” program.

The Sustainable Development Studies, Youth Capacity Building, and African Relations Program 🎓celebrated on September 22, 2025, the 13th annual graduation ceremony for approximately 300 African students participating in the African Elite Youth Program. The event was held at the Grand Hall of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina .

The ceremony was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina , in the presence of several ministers, ambassadors, university presidents from Egypt 🇪🇬, and members of the diplomatic corps , alongside African students from Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, Malawi, Comoros, Djibouti, and Egypt .

The program aims to strengthen Egyptian-African relations , build the capacities of African youth 💡, and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences through continuous educational meetings and initiatives . This reflects Egypt’s pioneering role in supporting sustainable development across the African continent 🌱 and empowering youth as future leaders.

We extend our warm congratulations 🎊 to all graduates and wish them a bright future filled with success and excellence 🎓 in serving their countries 🌍💪🏽.

The Sustainable Development Studies, Youth Capacity Building, and African Relations Program is delighted to extend its warmest congratulations to four outstanding students of the “African Youth for Development” Program, on their successful participation in a fully-funded training grant within the 7th Summer School on “Towards Non-Conventional and Sustainable Water Resources,” organized by the Desert Research Center in Matrouh Governorate from October 4–9, 2025.
