🎉 Meet Team ORKA Finalists at the IEEE Region 8 Humanitarian Technology Hackathon 2026!
We're beyond proud to celebrate this incredible team from Pharos University in Alexandria (IEEE PUA SIGHT), who made it to the final 5 across the entire Region 8 (Middle East, Africa, and Europe) 🌍

Their project, AGRIVOLTAIX, is a solar-powered smart farming system that combines AI, IoT sensors, and drone technology to monitor soil, weather, and crop conditions in real time.
The result? Higher productivity, lower costs, and a more sustainable path forward for smallholder farmers 🌾☀️

Before we even finished celebrating one global qualification, another one arrived. 🤩🌍

One of our teams is heading to Poland, and now another is officially on its way to Japan.

Congratulations to Team AutiCare, proudly representing IEEE PUA SIGHT, on qualifying for the RoboRAVE International 2026 Finals in Japan! 🇪🇬🇯🇵🏆

This achievement is more than just another qualification—it reflects our ongoing commitment to empowering students to create technology that makes a real difference. Through innovation, collaboration, and purpose-driven engineering, IEEE PUA SIGHT continues to support projects that address real-world humanitarian challenges.

IEEE PUA SIGHT is proud to announce that Team ORKA has been selected as one of only five finalist teams in the 2026 IEEE Region 8 Humanitarian Technology Hackathon, representing IEEE PUA SIGHT on the regional stage.

Recognized for its innovative and impactful humanitarian solution, Team ORKA will compete at the Grand Finals during the IEEE Region 8 Students and Young Professionals Congress 2026 in Kraków, Poland, from 20–24 July 2026.

This achievement reflects our commitment to leveraging technology for social good and creating meaningful impact within our communities.

We are incredibly proud of Team ORKA and wish them the very best in the finals.

Looking back at our first participation as IEEE PUA SIGHT in the IEEE Egyptian Student Branch Officer Meeting, hosted by IEEE OE Student Branch.

We were honored to be part of such an inspiring day, and especially lucky to meet Prof Ahmed Madian, Prof. Rania Assem, and Prof. Rania Swaif. The day was filled with insightful talks, impressive moments, and a truly motivating atmosphere.

We were also proud to take part in the Best Branch Poster Competition, where we contributed under Pharos IEEE SB by presenting some of our achievements throughout 2025.

It was a memorable experience for our team, and a meaningful step in our journey as IEEE PUA SIGHT. 🤍

Looking back at the 1st IEEE Egyptian SIGHT Annual Meeting, held on 20th December 2025, we were proud to represent IEEE PUA SIGHT at this inspiring meeting.

Organized under the umbrella of IEEE SIGHT Egypt Section and hosted by IEEE AAST Cairo SIGHT Group, the meeting brought together SIGHT groups from across Egypt to share their initiatives and strengthen collaboration toward Technology for Humanity.

During the meeting, IEEE PUA SIGHT delivered a talk presenting our journey so far, our current initiatives, and our vision for the upcoming period.

We are proud to have been part of this experience and to contribute to the growing SIGHT community in Egypt. 🤍
