Applications for N.O.V.A. are now officially open.

N.O.V.A. is a four-week, faculty-led program exploring the intersection of neuroscience, neuroimaging, medicine, and computational analysis. Participants will learn from faculty and researchers, explore modern neuroimaging techniques, and gain practical experience working with real imaging data.

Throughout the program, participants will apply their knowledge to a hands-on computational neuroimaging project, receiving guidance through a pod-based structure and faculty mentorship.

Daniele Calogero is a licensed psychologist and Cognitive Neuroscience graduate from Sapienza University of Rome. His research focuses on neuropsychology, neurostimulation, and social neuroscience, with experience in TMS-EEG, neuromodulation, and cognitive assessment.

Members, the journey has officially begun!

On July 1st, the Neuralis Lumos Neuroscience Program by IYNA October Chapter successfully conducted its first session, bringing together a group of passionate students eager to explore the field of neuroscience.

We are honored to welcome Gláucia Batista as a speaker in the Neuralis Lumos Program.

Gláucia Batista is a Public Health graduate from UFRJ and a current M.Sc. candidate in Neuroscience at UFF. Her research focuses on neurodegenerative diseases and the neurological effects of substance use, particularly alcohol.

Her work includes studies on alcohol-related dementia and hearing loss as a risk factor for neurodegeneration, supported by research scholarships from leading Brazilian institutions.

We are honored to welcome Hamza El-Mahi as a speaker in the Neuralis Lumos Program.

Hamza El-Mahi is a computational neuroscience researcher and physician (MBBS), as well as an Honorary Visitor at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology. His research explores predictive coding, active inference, and the computational foundations of consciousness.

He currently works on computational models of functional neurological disorders and serves as Director of Intelligence & Talent at SCIEMS, supporting research initiatives across healthcare and innovation.

IYNA October Chapter is pleased to announce that the application deadline for the Neuralis Lumos Program has been extended until June 28th.

This extension provides prospective participants with additional time to complete and submit their applications. We encourage all interested students to take advantage of this opportunity and apply before the new deadline.
