Go Local, Go Seasonal!
Want to shrink your “foodprint”? 👣 One of the simplest actions you can take towards sustainable eating is going local and in-season.
Why should I care about buying local?
🚛 Lowering Carbon Footprint: Up to 20% of greenhouse gas emissions from food production come from transport. In the case of fruit and vegetables, transportation alone makes up 36% of their emissions!
🌟 Taste and Nutritional Value: Local produce tastes better and has more nutrition since they ripen locally.
👩‍🌾 Supporting Your Community: Local products mean local economic activity, fostering closer connections with our farmers.
When you’re at the market next, try looking for local, in-season produce!

Last month in Sofia, we brought together youth workers from Bulgaria, Finland, Sweden, and Estonia for an inspiring training under the BoldVoice project 🇪🇺

Through meaningful discussions and hands-on sessions, we explored personal branding, strengthened public speaking skills, and shared ideas on how to better support disadvantaged youth in our communities.

Grateful for the energy, collaboration, and new connections—this is how real impact begins. 💬✨

The virtual assistant role has changed more in the past two years than in the previous decade.

AI is no longer a future concern for remote workers — it's already reshaping what employers expect and what skills get people hired.

We put together a practical guide to the 5 AI tools appearing most in VA, admin, and customer service job listings right now:

01 ChatGPT — your always-available first-draft engine. Stop staring at blank screens. Describe the email you need, get a polished draft in seconds.

02 Notion AI — paste your rough meeting notes, get a clean summary, action list, and follow-up email in under a minute.

03 Otter.ai — joins your Zoom or Teams calls, transcribes everything in real time, and delivers a summary the moment the meeting ends.

04 Zapier AI — describe what you want to automate in plain English. New client booking? It creates the task, updates the sheet, and sends the welcome email — automatically.

05 Canva AI — describe a presentation, get a full deck. No design background needed.

These aren't specialist tools. They are, increasingly, the baseline.

The good news: you don't need a tech background to use any of them. You need to know which problems they solve — and practise using them in real work situations.

That's exactly what the ReSTART project is built around. ReSTART is an EU-supported initiative that aims to help unemployed adults re-enter the labour market by equipping them with practical AI and human-AI collaboration skills — specifically for remote and hybrid roles in administration, customer service, and virtual assistance.

The programme will use problem-based learning (real workplace scenarios, not passive video courses), issue recognised digital micro-credentials, and connects learners directly to industry. If you're returning to work after a gap, changing direction, or simply want to work confidently in the remote economy — ReSTART is where to start.

Your favorite influencer has just posted product they were paid to endorse as a “must-have” item. Did they tell you that?

Influencers are a powerful force in the lives of young people. How young people spend their money and what they aspire to be can both be influenced by good influencers using their influence responsibly, so it is important to know the difference.

So what do ethical influencers do?

* Label each sponsored post appropriately ( / /neither as a way to hide sponsorship)
* Promote only those products that you’ve used personally and have faith in
* Research the brands they collaborate with (ie: what are their values; ethical practices; environmental impact)
* Educate their followers on how to critically evaluate advertisements and media
* Value quality over quantity; reuse instead of replacing

Media literacy doesn’t just belong in the classroom. Knowing how to interpret content that is in our feeds starts the process of becoming media literate.

That’s what the Your Response project strives to accomplish: to support young people in making informed and conscious decisions in this sea of digital noise.

Are you following ethical influencers?

SDG 12 — Responsible Consumption and Production

Did you know that sustainable consumption and production is one of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals? Goal 12 (SDG 12) urges us to rethink how we use resources — from food and clothes to energy and materials — so that we reduce waste, use resources efficiently, and protect the planet for future generations.

This goal covers important aspects like reducing food waste, choosing products with a lower environmental impact, supporting recycling and reuse, and making sure people everywhere have the right information and awareness to make sustainable choices.

That’s why SDG 12 is so closely linked to the Your Response!

Small informed choices matter: choosing less wasteful products, understanding advertising and digital messages, and being mindful of consumption habits are all ways young people can help deliver SDG 12 in everyday life. 💬💡

🌍 Your Choices Shape the Planet

Household consumption drives nearly 60% of global greenhouse gas emissions (European Environment Agency, 2023). The good news? Small everyday choices can make a real difference.

The YOUR RESPONSE Project highlights three free tools that help people across Europe consume more responsibly and reduce waste:

🛍️ Good On You
Check how fashion brands impact people, the planet, and animals before you buy.

🥗 Too Good To Go
Rescue surplus food from local restaurants and stores while saving money and reducing waste.

🌿 Earth Hero
Track your carbon footprint and take simple daily actions to live more sustainably.

Digital tools like these help turn good intentions into real climate action — one choice at a time.

32% of Europe’s workforce faces AI-driven job transformation. That number is already on the wall.

ING Group economists, drawing on analysis from the International Monetary Fund, estimate that 50.2 million Europeans face the risk of having their roles replaced or significantly altered by AI. This is not a projection about a distant future.

Generative AI adoption among European firms surged from 33% to 71% between 2023 and 2024 (European Central Bank), and the pace is not slowing. 63% of European workers already anticipate that parts of their jobs will be automated within the next two years (Digital Skills and Jobs Platform).

The roles under the most immediate pressure are not abstract or highly technical. They are the everyday jobs that millions of unemployed adults are trying to return to: administrative support, customer service, data coordination, and virtual assistance. The transformation is not waiting for people to catch up — it is already rewriting job requirements.

What makes this particularly urgent is the gap it creates for people who are already outside the labour market.

Employed workers often have access to employer-funded upskilling, workplace exposure to new tools, and opportunities for gradual adaptation. Unemployed adults have none of that support.

Only 24% of workers are satisfied with the AI training opportunities offered by employers (Euronews). And that figure reflects people who are already employed. For those trying to re-enter the workforce, the barrier is even steeper.

That is exactly the challenge ReSTART is designed to address.

Right now, our team across six European countries is building a curriculum grounded in real workplace scenarios, flexible problem-based learning, and recognised digital micro-credentials, so that unemployed adults can re-enter today’s job market with the skills it actually demands.

The curriculum is currently in active development.
