We're thrilled to share that one of our key project outputs has been successfully completed—a physical and digital board game that combines AI-powered learning with sustainability education.

Designed especially to support older adults, the game promotes:

💬 Social learning and collaboration
🌟 Cognitive engagement and active ageing

By blending interactive gameplay with AI prompt engineering, the board game creates an engaging and accessible way for seniors to explore sustainability while building confidence in using AI.

The design phase is now complete, and we're getting ready for the first round of user testing! We can't wait to gather feedback and continue improving this innovative learning experience.

🛠️ The EYED Digital Toolkit is Coming Soon! 🤖✨

Exciting things are on the way!

Our project team has been working hard to develop the EYED Digital Toolkit—a practical resource designed to help young people and youth workers explore the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI), including Generative AI, in digital marketing and eCommerce.

As part of this work, we have completed a comprehensive mapping of AI tools, identifying innovative solutions that can support tasks such as content creation, market research, competitor analysis, customer communication, business planning, and eCommerce operations.

The Toolkit will bring together practical guidance, hands-on activities, templates, case studies, and real-world examples to help users confidently apply AI in their entrepreneurial journeys.

🤖 42% need AI skills – but only 15% receive AI training.

The gap is striking.

According to Cedefop, 42% of workers believe they need to further develop their AI-related skills. Yet only 15% report having participated in AI-related training. At the same time, AI is already transforming tasks and workplaces across Europe. Cedefop stresses that upskilling and reskilling are becoming essential for employability and sustainable labour productivity.

💡 But what about people who are currently outside the labour market?

How can unemployed adults prepare for AI-supported workplaces if access to practical AI learning is already limited for many employees?

This is one of the challenges addressed by ReSTART – Rebuilding Careers with AI Skills and Problem-Based Learning.

Our approach focuses on:

🔹 practical AI skills
🔹 real-world problem-based learning
🔹 Human-AI Collaboration
🔹 career pathways for AI-supported jobs
🔹 accessible learning and micro-credentials

The AI transformation should not widen existing labour market gaps.

It should create new pathways back into employment.

🤖 AI skills are becoming a fundamental competence – but is training keeping pace?

A recent OECD Policy Brief, "Bridging the AI Skills Gap: Is Training Keeping Up?", highlights a challenge that affects education systems, employers and labour markets across Europe.

Among the key findings:
✅ The demand for general AI literacy is growing much faster than the current supply of training opportunities.
✅ Most workers will not need to become AI developers – but they will need to understand how to work effectively with AI in their daily jobs.
✅ AI training must become more accessible, inclusive and practice-oriented, particularly for adults who are unemployed, low-skilled or at risk of being left behind by digital transformation.
✅ Governments, education providers and employers all have a shared responsibility to create effective pathways for AI upskilling.

These findings strongly reinforce the objectives of our Erasmus+ project ReSTART – Rebuilding Careers with AI Skills and Problem-Based Learning.

Together with partners from Germany, Italy, Estonia, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Poland, ReSTART is developing practical learning pathways that help unemployed adults build:
🔹 AI literacy
🔹 Human-AI collaboration skills
🔹 Problem-solving competencies
🔹 Digital confidence
🔹 Job readiness for remote and hybrid work environments

Rather than focusing on programming or advanced technical expertise, ReSTART aims to make AI understandable, practical and directly applicable to everyday working life.

Over the coming months, we will continue to share international research, policy developments and good practices while developing our own evidence and project results.
