Psychological disorder or psychiatric illness — do you know the difference? 🧠

We use these terms interchangeably, but they’re not the same thing. A psychological disorder is shaped by our thoughts, experiences, and patterns — it’s worked through in therapy. A psychiatric illness has a biological basis, directly affecting brain chemistry, and often requires medical treatment alongside support.

Understanding this difference isn’t about labels — it’s about letting go of judgment and making space for real conversations about mental health.

There’s no shame in needing help, whichever form it takes. 💜
