Happy New Year from Abby's Garden!
We are happy to report that 2023 was a
year of exponential growth for us! We expanded from 8 kids to 12, and doubled the amount of caregivers.
Our support base of monthly donators more than doubled!! We are so gratetul, blessed, and eager to see what God has in store for us in 2024!

It's been awhile since we shared our purposes here at Abby's Garden and we'd like to take the opportunity to do that again.
We are a nonprofit donation-based daycare in the Dominican Republic with several purposes:
1. First and foremost, we provide excellent care for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. Daycares in the DR are usually government-run institutions where the child to caregiver ratio is 15:1. At Abby's Garden, not only do we keep the ratio lower (currently we have one caregiver per four children), but we also teach them about Jesus and His love for them.
2. To provide opportunities to share the Gospel with the parents and to encourage them in their parenting, both at the meetings we regularly have and through book clubs.
3. To provide jobs for women in the DR, who don't have many opportunities for finding good employment.
4. The reality is that in the DR, in most families both parents have to work to support the family. That makes childcare a basic need for most families. We are meeting this need through Abby's Garden.
About our name: Abby is the daughter of our Director, Divina, who spent 4 years as a daycare director in a government-run institution before becoming a mother, so she had the experience and the knowledge of how to create a wonderful space for children, including her own. When we opened Abby’s Garden in 2022, it was her dream come true to be able to work to help provide for her family while also caring for Abby. ♥️
