After more than 20 cinema screenings across Poland in June, Where Music Grows (Tam, Gdzie Rośnie Muzyka 🇵🇱 / Et Klassisk Liv 🇩🇰) continues its journey this July with more screenings in Poland, a return to Denmark, and its Danish TV premiere later this month. 🎬✨

🏆 Fresh from winning the Audience Award at the 66th Krakow Film Festival, the film is now continuing its journey across Poland with multiple screenings this month in Warsaw, Kraków, Katowice, Kielce and Poznań.

You will have the opportunity to meet Jacob Shaw - internationally acclaimed cellist, founder of Scandinavian Cello School, and one of the central figures featured in the film.

Set on a musical farm in rural Denmark, Where Music Grows follows a remarkable group of young musicians as they navigate friendship, ambition, vulnerability, and the challenges of building a life in music. 🎻🌱

Jacob will introduce the film and share stories from behind the scenes of both the documentary and the unique community that inspired it.

🏆 AUDIENCE AWARD WINNER - 66TH KRAKÓW FILM FESTIVAL 2026

A film about human connection has been honoured by the very people it hoped to connect with.

We are deeply moved that Where Music Grows / Tam, Gdzie Rośnie Muzyka, directed by Katrine Philp for Good Company Pictures, with cinematography by Adam Morris Philp, has won the Audience Award at the 66th Krakow Film Festival.

What began as a small idea on a farm in rural Denmark became a film about friendship, belonging, ambition, vulnerability, and what it means to grow - not only as musicians, but as people.

Over the past few days we have shared that film, a concert, conversations, laughter, tears, and countless stories with audiences in Kraków. To know that it resonated so strongly with the people who experienced it means more to us than we can put into words.

Thank you to Katrine, Adam, and the entire team at Good Company Pictures for telling this story with such honesty and care.

Thank you to every musician, volunteer, supporter, and friend who has been part of Scandinavian Cello School over the last ten years. This recognition belongs to all of you.

And thank you to the audiences of Kraków. For your warmth, your generosity, your questions, your conversations, and your votes.

Tam, Gdzie Rośnie Muzyka (Where Music Grows) seems to have picked up a little attention in Poland… 👀

Ahead of tomorrow’s screening at Krakow Film Festival we have been humbled to see the film featured by major Polish media including Gazeta Wyborcza and Tygodnik Powszechny, alongside appearances in numerous festival “Top 10” and must-see guides.

A few of our favourite comments:

“Katrine Philp’s film shows that artistic development doesn’t have to mean a solitary struggle for success. It’s a beautiful story about community, collaboration, and finding balance between ambition and everyday life. One of the most optimistic titles at this year’s festival.”

“Sustainable musical development – ​​this is how one could describe the extraordinary project presented in Katrine Philp’s documentary from the DocFilmMusic competition. Exceptional talents trained for mastery, constant competition, and self-promotion undergo a profound reset and learn to connect in a very mundane, everyday sense. Not bad for a group of musicians, animals, fishermen, farmers and assorted dreamers gathered in a small corner of rural Denmark. 🥰
