Today YATA Odense visited the Portuguese Embassy in Copenhagen for an insightful discussion with the Chief of Mission. 🇵🇹
It was a valuable opportunity for our members to learn more about diplomatic work and current priorities.

Thank you to everyone who joined – the conversations, questions, and networking made the afternoon even more meaningful. And Copenhagen treated us well today, which made the experience all the better. 🌞

Call for Applications – News Coordinators (2 Positions)
Youth Atlantic Treaty Association (YATA)

Are you passionate about international security and defence? Do you enjoy following current affairs and turning complex developments into clear, engaging updates?

We’re looking for two News Coordinators to help shape the news content shared on YATA’s social media platforms.

Position 1: Research & Drafting Coordinator
Main Responsibilities:
• Monitor press releases and official sources on security and defence
• Research key developments in international security
• Draft concise and engaging news updates for social media
Profile:
• Strong writing and drafting skills
• Interest in current affairs, security, and defence
• Ability to summarize complex information accurately

Position 2: Fact‑Checking & Layout Coordinator
Main Responsibilities:
• Fact‑check drafted news pieces using reliable sources
• Ensure accuracy and clarity of content
• Prepare and format posts for publication
Profile:
• Excellent attention to detail
• Interest in international security and defense
• Basic understanding of Canva and social media

Time Commitment:
Approx. 8 hours per month

• Become an active member of YATA
• Deepen your understanding of international security
• Gain hands‑on experience in research, fact‑checking, and strategic communication
• Contribute to informed discussions on global security issues

We kicked off this week in the best possible way — with our public speaking workshop this Monday!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this event a success 🫂

And a big, heartfelt thank‑you to our Guest Expert, Ïo Valls-Ratés, whose guidance and live feedback made the whole experience feel supportive, fun, and surprisingly relaxed. It’s not every day you get to practice public speaking in a space where everyone is cheering you on.

We tried new techniques, played with our voices, experimented with different ways of opening a presentation, and most importantly… we had fun doing it.

Operation Breach: successfully executed 🕵️

Turns out deception, lying, and manipulation are alarmingly effective tools… at least in a controlled game setting.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us — you made the chaos fun, the strategies wild, and the “trust issues” unforgettable.

After the game, we opened the floor to real‑world cases of leaking and whistleblowing, from Asif W. Rahman to Edward Snowden, and dug into the big questions:
When is leaking justified?
Is preventing war a defence?
Where do we draw the line between duty and morality?

Serious debates, questionable tactics, and a genuinely amazing evening.
Already looking forward to the next event!
