On behalf of JDC Europe, we strongly condemn the tragic murder of Amal Khalil in South Lebanon.

We extend our deepest condolences to her family, loved ones, and all who were touched by her life. Amal was not only a brave and neutral journalist, but also a compassionate soul who dedicated herself to helping others—especially the people of Gaza and Lebanon.

She was a vital bridge in our humanitarian efforts, always working sincerely to connect aid with those in need. Her kindness, courage, and commitment to truth will never be forgotten.

To us, she was more than a colleague—she was a dear friend.
Her loss is immeasurable, but her legacy will live on through every life she helped.

May her soul rest in peace.

Maysaa, a mother of five, is among the countless people displaced in Gaza. Recent rains and cold temperatures are making her life even more unbearable.

UNICEF is working tirelessly to support children and families in Gaza amid the harsh weather. With partners, they have distributed thousands of tarps, winter clothing kits, and blankets to those in need.
