traditionelle såvel som moderne
latinamerikansk musik. Vores vision er at bryde med en forsimplet og snæver forestilling om, hvad latinamerikansk musik er, og præsentere musik som bevæger sig uden for de mainstream kanaler eller genrer. Festivalen er en del af et internationalt netværk af musikere som understøtter inspiration og udveksling musikerne imellem, og nærer der igennem den latinamerikanske folkemusik. KAI STENSGAARD performing at Sonamos Latinoamérica Cph. 2020
The marimba became a foundational pillar of folklore in regions like Mexico and Guatemala. Danish virtuoso Kai Stengård bridges this tradition with contemporary classical percussion through highly collaborative projects, such as his extensive work with Mexican master Javier Nandayapa.

Kai is also a composer with many pieces inspired by Latin American folkloric music. He wrote f.ex. a suite for marimba and Symphony Orchestra...
