Angesichts der Zersplitterung zeitgenössischer Musik in immer mehr Szenen, angesichts der politischen und wirtschaftlichen Lage wurde es auch in Hamburg Zeit für einen Zusammenschluss, eine Vernetzung von Hamburgs experimenteller Musikszene. Ziel ist es, die gesamte Breite der Szene nach außen zu repräsentieren und zu vernetzen (von der komponierten Musik über Improvisation, Elektronik, Avangarde-Rock-Punk-Djing zu den laptop-Bastlern)
Ziel ist es, die verschiedenen Aktivitäten über die Szenen hinaus bekannt zu machen, neues Publikum zu erschließen, Publikum von einer Szene für die andere zu interessieren und diese innovativen Musikproduktionen dem Hamburger Publikum überhaupt erst in größerem Rahmen zugänglich zu machen (Szene-übergreifender Veranstaltungskalender mit homepage)
Ziel ist es, den Dialog mit den Behörden zu führen, Infrastrukturen aufzubauen und die Mitglieder zu vernetzen
Ziel ist es, Öffentlichkeit herzustellen (Pressearbeit, workshops, Schulen, Musikwissenschaft, Erarbeitung von Vermittlungskonzepten)

In light of the fragmentation of contemporary music in ever more scenes and the current political and economic situation, it is high time for all pockets of experimental music to form a network in Hamburg. The goal of our association is to connect all dimensions of this scene in one network and to represent them to the outside world all the way from composed music, improvisation, and electronic music to Avantgarde-Rock-Punk-Djing and laptop do-it-yourselfers. The goal is to make these different activities known to the wider public, beyond the current music scene. We aim to win new audiences, interest fans of one scene in others, and render these innovative music productions accessible for residents of Hamburg on a larger scale (by way of an all-encompassing concert calendar and an Internet homepage). The goal is to lead the dialogue with the local administration, to create an infrastructure and to connect the different members. The goal is to create public awareness by way of media relations and workshops, through public and private schools, musical science at large and new concepts of teaching and communicating. The goal is to build a center for contemporary music in order to put an end to the lack of suitable concert locations, and to create new outlets for musicians to perform.
