If it's summer, then it must be time for major S-Bahn line repairs and closures 🚊

As usual, the downtown tunnel will be closed from the main station through Stadtmitte, Feuersee, Schwabstrasse, Üniversität, and Österfeld.

What's new this year is how early the Stammstrecke is closing: July 20th.

Do you order products online from places like Temu? Until now, these small packages worth less than €150 arriving from non-EU countries have been duty-free, but that is changing on July 1st.

Until retailers start collecting this new (per item, not per package!) fee at checkout, you might be asked to pay the post office in order to get your package.

(Note: this English-language explainer is from Ireland and makes reference to a Revenue office, which would be the Zollamt here in Germany.)

Shopping online is about to get more expensive if you buy products that are outside the EU. From 1 July, new charges will be applied to packages coming in to the EU.

Es war ein erfolgreicher erster Tag, aber die Hitze hat Mensch und Technik an die Grenzen geführt. Deshalb findet das Kessel-Festival am Samstag in Stuttgart nicht statt.

For our American members and followers and anyone else who is missing fireworks on the Fourth of July!

Im Sommer geht es Schlag auf Schlag: Kaum ist das Straßenmusikfestival vorbei, steht schon das nächste schöne Event im Park an. 🌞

Am Samstag, 4. Juli lädt das Blühende Barock wieder zu seinem traditionellen Musikfeuerwerk ein. Unter dem Motto „Wenn Erinnerungen den Himmel erleuchten“ erwartet dich ein besonderes Erlebnis, bei dem bekannte Melodien aus Film- und Fantasiewelten wie „Fluch der Karibik“, Tabaluga und beliebten Disney-Filmen den Himmel über Ludwigsburg begleiten.

Ab 18 Uhr sorgen die Band La Diri im Südgarten und Liberry Space im Unteren Ostgarten für Sommerstimmung: Akustik-Cover von Pop- und Rockhits, Soul, Reggae, Latin und Grooves mit Rock-, Soul-, Funk- und Jazz-Einflüssen lassen dich schon vor dem Feuerwerk eintauchen, mitsummen und genießen. Das große Musikfeuerwerk selbst beginnt voraussichtlich gegen 22:30 Uhr und verwandelt den Schlosspark in eine leuchtende Bühne.
