European Youth Conference on Human Rights European Youth Conference on Human Rights Nürnberg 2012 The city of Nuremburg has also been invited to be a project partner for the conference.

The European Youth Conference on Human Rights will gather 100 young people from all over Europe to actively engage in politics by taking on the joint responsibility of securing the protection of human rights. The participants will debate their perception of the current human rights’ situation, discuss them with experts from politics and civil society, and finally develop their own ideas for a better implementation of human rights in Europe’s legislation and civil society. In the General Assembly, the young Europeans will debate their topics according to the parliamentary procedure of the European Parliament and practice factual debating about different opinions strongly influenced by cultural differences and personal experiences. Mr Markus Löning, Federal Government Commissioner for Human Rights Policy and Humanitarian Aid, and Mr Ulrich Maly, Lord Mayor of the city of Nuremberg, have already confirmed their support and patronage.
