: 6 FEET MOBILE ON OBSERVATION by Berlin based artist Veronika E.M. Blum

Created in April 2020, amid intense debates about COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing and vaccination, 6 Feet Mobile on Observation reflects the uncertainty and contradictions of an unprecedented global crisis. Inspired by an invitation from an American artists’ platform to contribute a work on the theme of “6 Feet Distance,” Veronika E. M. Blum explores the question of what awaits us after Corona. Will the crisis lead to a lasting change in our way of life and a more conscious appreciation of time, or will human hubris and the desire for constant progress continue to prevail, like the biblical Tower of Babel? The work invites viewers to reflect on our collective future and the lessons we may take from this experience.

The sculpture combines three everyday objects: a 1.5-metre tree trunk, a bicycle leather saddle and a pair of binoculars. Through the combination of these found elements, Veronika creates a new context of meaning. The tree trunk refers to the prescribed physical distance, the saddle suggests movement and the possibility of moving forward, while the binoculars evoke the desire to look ahead into an uncertain future.
In keeping with her artistic practice, Veronika transforms seemingly ordinary objects into a thought-provoking assemblage that encourages individual interpretation, reflection and dialogue.

Veronika E. M. Blum’s artistic journey is rooted in a lifelong search for identity and a desire to bridge inner and outer worlds. Working primarily with found objects, discarded materials, wood and metals, she transforms seemingly useless fragments into meaningful objects, sculptures and installations. Guided by the unique aura and aesthetic qualities of each material, her work explores metamorphosis and transformation, opening up new spaces for reflection, imagination and dialogue.

🔥 : Spotlight on Katrin Wegeman ‼️

✨️Katrin Wegemann is a German sculptor whose artistic practice encompasses sculpture, performance, kinetic installations, objects, ceramics, and art in architecture and public spaces. Working across a spectrum of static and dynamic forms, she explores how materials and spatial environments can change, evolve, and shape our perception.🫶

✨️As Katrin describes her approach:
“My artistic work takes place in sculpture and performance, spanning the spectrum between static sculptures and kinetic spatial installations. Time, material, space, and movement are fundamental elements of my process-oriented work. They all await transformation—whether intrinsic to the piece through the passage of time or externally induced by human and mechanical agents. Even seemingly static objects, such as my ceramics, can evoke a sense of metamorphosis when viewed as a series. My artistic research consistently focuses on the fleeting and the ephemeral, and on the question of how to capture them.”

This interest in transformation is reflected in works that range from moving, mechanically driven installations to ceramics and serial compositions. Many of her projects are closely connected to their surroundings, particularly her art-in-architecture works, which respond to the character and function of a specific place.🤩

Across different materials and formats, Katrin invites viewers to reconsider how they perceive objects and spaces, discover change in unexpected places, and reflect on the relationship between permanence and transformation.👏

🤩✨️Let's give a warm welcome to our : Manuel Lächner | MLSculptures

⭐️Manuel Lächner is a German self-taught and independent artist based in Leutenbach near Stuttgart, Germany. Since 2022, he has been passionately developing his own artistic language at the intersection of Pop Art and contemporary sculpture. Working entirely by hand, he transforms wire, plaster and other materials into expressive three-dimensional artworks that combine bold colours, distinctive forms and a unique sense of character.

At the heart of Lächner’s work lies the desire to create sculptures that do more than simply catch the eye. Each figure tells its own story, conveys a particular mood or captures a feeling. Themes such as love, freedom, togetherness and the joy of life find expression alongside humour, spontaneity and a playful approach to everyday experiences. His works bring together the bold visual language of Pop Art and the individuality of handmade sculpture, creating a distinctive balance between artistic expression, colour and personality.🫶

What began as a creative pastime has gradually evolved into a dedicated artistic journey. As a self-taught artist, Lächner continually explores new materials, forms and ideas, allowing his work to grow organically while refining his own visual language. Driven by curiosity and a passion for creative experimentation, he approaches each new sculpture as an opportunity to discover fresh possibilities and expand the boundaries of his artistic expression.

His artistic portfolio ranges from striking clown figures and expressive human torsos to figurative sculptures and more abstract creations. Each piece is conceived as an individual work of art, reflecting his fascination with the interplay of form, colour and emotion. Vibrant hues, graphic elements and playful details give his sculptures their unmistakable visual identity, while their three-dimensional presence invites viewers to discover different perspectives and interpretations.

Under the name MLSculptures, Manuel Lächner is steadily building his presence as an independent artist, with the ambition of sharing his work with a wider audience, connecting with collectors, galleries and fellow creatives, and bringing his sculptures into new spaces. 🌿 What does it feel like when your familiar surroundings change before your eyes?

In her exhibition “Forme di Solastalgia” at the Centro Internazionale di Scultura in Peccia, artist Eline Kersten explores environmental grief after the 2024 storms in Ticino. She combines video installations, 100,000-year-old glacier water and charred wood into spaces for reflection, without a raised finger.

On view until 31 October. From 30 October, her work is also part of “Weltbilder im Wandel” at the Oldenburg State Museum.

🔥🗓 by Irene Anton at DenkmalKunst - KunstDenkmal Hann. Münden – until 11 October!

⭐️As part of the DenkmalKunst Hann. Münden festival in Hann. Münden, Irene presents her installation “ich & ich & ich & ich” (me & me & me & me) at Ziegelstraße 4.

🔎The installation, consisting of mirrors of various sizes mounted on the wall, as well as folding mirrors attached to selfie sticks - is a small interactive mirror cabinet of narcissism that, with a certain tongue-in-cheek attitude, alludes to the excessive selfie craze on Instagram. It reflects on perception and today’s culture of selfies and self-presentation. Anton examines how social media increasingly places the individual and their image at the centre, while the actual experience of a place can become secondary. The work questions this shift in perception and the constant repetition of idealised self-images.👥️

In addition to the installation, the exhibition presents Anton’s wall installation “fish & tins” and works from her relief-collage series “volcanic landscapes”.

“fish & tins” addresses the issue of overfishing in the oceans by presenting watercolour drawings of various marine creatures in recycled fish tins. The biodiversity of the oceans is represented through a selection of species, while the metal tins frame the sea creatures like small precious objects, giving them a special appreciation. Particular attention is paid to sharks, which are largely harmless to humans and are unjustly demonised and hunted.

The series “volcanic landscapes” explores the aesthetics of destructive forces and our fascination with them – the fine line between beauty and awe. Fictional landscapes, largely inspired by the Canary Islands, are created as relief collages, each consisting of several layers of different cardboards, papers and natural materials. The technique of tearing the materials further emphasises the rough character of volcanic landscapes.

Irene Anton studied Fashion and Textile Design at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) and later completed a Master’s degree in Art in Context. Her artistic practice focuses on objects, reliefs, installations and site-specific art.
Her work encompasses a range of media, with a particular focus on installation and object art. She is interested in materials, textures, structures, light, sound and sensory perception, often working with textiles and recycled materials. Her sources of inspiration include topographies, maps, architecture, urban structures, landscapes and natural forms.

✨️DenkmalKunst – KunstDenkmal is a biennial art festival dedicated to the historic old town of Hann. Münden. During the festival, artists transform historic buildings, churches, towers, courtyards and other spaces into temporary exhibition venues. The festival brings contemporary art into dialogue with the town’s historic architecture and opens otherwise inaccessible places to the public.

⭐️The 19th SkulpturenSCHAU! in Weikersheim presents fourteen of Rainer’s mostly life-size figurative sculptures throughout the historic centre of the town. The works can be encountered beneath the arcades, on the market square and in the kitchen garden of Weikersheim Castle.🫶

Rather than being confined to a traditional gallery setting, the sculptures become part of the town and its historical surroundings, unexpectedly meeting visitors in public spaces and inviting them into a quiet, personal dialogue.🤩

Weikersheim has hosted an annual solo sculpture exhibition since 2008, and Kurka is being presented as an exhibiting artist there for the second time.👏

🔎Berlin-based sculptor Rainer Kurka creates life-size figurative sculptures that appear remarkably lifelike, yet are entirely born from his imagination rather than depicting real people.
His artistic journey began at the age of 15 with a sandstone sculpture course, where he became fascinated by transforming “dead” matter into seemingly living beings. Working primarily in clay and using the hollow-building technique, Rainer creates finely detailed terracotta and bronze figures, each with an individual character and presence. His aim is not simply to reproduce the human form, but to give each figure the sense of being a unique, soulful personality.
This approach reflects a renewed contemporary interest in the human figure, exploring themes of identity, presence and inner experience.🔥

“The Sculpture Triennial emerged from an idea by Gerda and Kuno Pieroth: with the first exhibition, the aim was to bring art out of museums and into public space, while at the same time enlivening the Bingen Rhine waterfront. It took place for the first time in 2008 as part of the State Garden Show – initially conceived as a more regional project, but from the very beginning with the ambition of making art freely accessible and directly experienceable for everyone. Over the years, this has developed into an exhibition that attracts attention beyond the region and connects Bingen with contemporary art in a special way every three years.” Maria Gleichmann-Pieroth

The Sculpture Triennial in Bingen, organized every three years by the Gerda and Kuno Pieroth Foundation, is a prominent exhibition of contemporary sculpture in public space. The initiative stems from the personal commitment of Gerda and Kuno Pieroth, who wanted to give something back to the region and make contemporary art accessible to everyone.

Free and open to everyone, the Triennial transforms Bingen’s Rhine waterfront into an open-air exhibition space at the gateway to the Upper Middle Rhine Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Each edition features around 20 works by both emerging and established artists, addressing current social, global, and cultural-political issues. Some works are created specifically for the site, while existing sculptures take on new meaning through their new context.

🔥two by Gerhard-Marcks-Haus📣📣

The Gerhard-Marcks-Haus presents the first solo exhibition of Irish sculptor Daphne Wright on mainland Europe.
Memory and Presence is on view until 18 October 2026.

⭐️Daphne Wright’s work explores transience, fragility and the stages of life, from childhood to adulthood, life and death. Her latest major work, Sons and Couch (2025), depicts her two sons at life size, seated on their family sofa—a poignant snapshot of everyday life at the threshold of adulthood. The visible traces of its laborious Jesmonite casting process counter any impression of hyperrealism.

The exhibition spans Wright’s entire career, from early plaster and aluminium foil installations to recent works such as Dogs, made from unfired clay. Through modelling and casting from both living and dead subjects, she explores different material and emotional effects. The predominantly white tones lend her works a quiet, melancholic presence.

Born in Ireland in 1963, Wright lives and works in Dublin. Her work is held in major public collections, including the Gallery of Modern Art in Glasgow, IMMA in Dublin, Arts Council England and Kunsthalle Hamburg.

A bilingual German-English catalogue will be published by Hirmer Verlag. The exhibition is supported by Culture Ireland, the Karin and Uwe Hollweg Foundation, the Christa and Nikolaus Schües Cultural Foundation, and the Friends of the Gerhard-Marcks-Haus.

Furthermore, the wonderful cabinet exhibition by Christian Schilling: Wunderkammer is also on view until 18 October 2026.

Christian Schilling (born 1960) is perhaps one of the few artists from Bremen to have exhibited at the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art in New York, the world’s first museum dedicated exclusively to LGBTQIA+ perspectives.

His exaggerated figurative sculptures and ensembles blend comic-style elements with art-historical references, including the Egyptian Amarna period. Many of his multi-part objects hold secrets—some of which are revealed to visitors, even though they cannot be handled.

Trained as an architect, Schilling enjoys combining technical skills with creativity. Until a year ago, he worked as an urban planner in Bremen’s municipal building department, helping shape the city’s southern districts. For over 20 years, he has pursued art alongside his professional career, focusing primarily on heads—a subject that has fascinated him from the beginning.
