Looking for a unique way to experience German culture, local cuisine, and the beautiful West Palatinate countryside?

The 13th Annual Alte Welt Food Walk (Schlemmerwanderung) invites visitors to enjoy a scenic 3.5-mile (5.5 km) circular hike through the picturesque landscapes of the historic "Alte Welt" region.

What to Expect

🍽️ Eight Culinary Stops
Sample authentic regional specialties prepared with local ingredients, including traditional Palatine dishes, homemade cakes, local wines, craft beverages, and seasonal specialties.

🥾 Scenic Hiking Route
Enjoy easy walking trails with beautiful views of rolling hills, forests, and rural villages.

🌿 Nature & Family Activities
Explore educational exhibits, a forest and wildlife program, herbal tours, and interactive displays about local traditions and rural life.

☀️ Historic Sundial & Nature Trail
The route includes several local landmarks, including the Reiserberg sundial and portions of the Alte Welt Nature Trail.

Suitable for all ages and a great opportunity to experience authentic German culture beyond the larger cities.

🚗 Classic Cars and Historic Vehicles
Kaiserslautern Classics Showcases Automotive Treasures for the City’s Anniversary
Downtown Kaiserslautern becomes a classic car hotspot on Saturday, June 20, celebrating both the 18th Kaiserslautern Classics and the 750th city anniversary. Visitors can enjoy vintage vehicles, retro flair, shopping, and dining in a lively city center atmosphere.
🎙️ Theme: 1950s–1970s Retro Flair
• Focus on the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s
• Dance groups in petticoat and rock ’n’ roll style perform throughout the city
• Opel marks the 60th anniversary of its Kaiserslautern plant with a 1960s vehicle showcase on Marktstraße (from 10 a.m.)
🛍️ Hövelmeyer Anniversary Flea Market
• Starts at 10 a.m. in the Old Town
• Extends from St.-Martins-Platz → Klosterstraße → Steinstraße
• Offers browsing, discovering, and lingering
🚌 City Tour in a Vintage Bus
• One hour nostalgic tour with city insights
• Meeting point: Tourist Information Office
• Times: 10:00 (DE), 11:30 (EN), 13:00 (DE)
• Cost: 7.50 €

🏁 4th ADAC Trifels Classic Car Hike
• Over 100 participants
• Start: 8:30 a.m. at the Opel plant with a regularity test
• Route: Meisenheim → Bad Sobernheim → Grolsheim → Kleinkarlbach → Kaiserslautern
• Arrival at Stiftsplatz around 4 p.m., vehicles on display
🚒 Fire Truck Exhibition
• Historic and modern turntable ladders
• Starts at 10 a.m. at Neue Stadtmitte
🛵 4th Vespa Meetup
• Begins at 10 a.m. on Riesenstraße
• Showcases lovingly maintained Vespas
🎵 Music and Entertainment
