📊 As of 31.12.2025, there are exactly 16,335 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 according to data by the German Federal Statistics Office (Statistisches Bundesamt).

⚠️ The actual number is likely 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫 since Kenyans such as those who renounced their Kenyan citizenship before June 2024 (before Germany introduced dual citizenship reforms) are 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬.

Today we feature Alice Stroh, a Kenyan diaspora leader engaged in community and local politics in Germany.

𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝
Alice came to Germany several years ago as an au pair. After completing her program she attended a German language school in Heidelberg and later studied nursing. While building her career she also started a family. Motivated to expand her expertise she pursued further studies and graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management.

During her studies Alice became increasingly involved in community and political engagement. She was elected co-chair of the Integration Commission, working closely with local policymakers and contributing to policy proposals on migration and integration. She was later endorsed by the Christian Democratic Union faction to take a seat in local communal politics.

Family support, investment in communities, strengthening voluntary work, and improving schools.

Alice is running for municipal council representation (Gemeindevertretung) in Freigericht, Hessen.

“As members of the diaspora we have the opportunity to contribute positively to German politics and society. By engaging actively we can strengthen cooperation and promote policies that support employment, empowerment, and integration. Our voices are not yet fully represented and it is time for us to become more involved.”
