❤️ A moment that will never be forgotten. 🇸🇴

The official UEFA Super Cup medal, UEFA Match Official badge, referee notebook, and the cards used on the night — all earned by Somali referee Omar Artan after making history at the 2026 UEFA Super Cup in Salzburg.

From missing the FIFA World Cup after being denied entry to the United States, to standing on one of European football’s biggest stages, Omar Artan’s journey is a powerful reminder that setbacks do not define a career — resilience does.

A proud moment for Somalia, African football, and the entire refereeing community.

Congratulations to Omar Artan and his team on this remarkable achievement. 👏🏅

UEFA Foundation for Children 🙏🇸🇴⚽️🫶

Eight-year-old Ali is about to experience a night he'll never forget as he takes part in the UEFA Super Cup medal ceremony in Salzburg.

Born in Austria to Somali parents, Ali loves football for two simple reasons: "running and shooting." Now, he'll have a front-row seat to the action and the chance to meet some of the stars of the game.

Ali is supported by Breaking Grounds, a UEFA Foundation for Children partner in Austria that uses sport to promote inclusion, empowerment and social change.

Because football is more than a game. It's about opening doors, building confidence and creating opportunities for every child. 💙
