in Berlin is now behind us – and we can look back on an exciting few days filled with discussion, fresh ideas and international networking.

Together with a delegation from the Ukrainian SBI, we took part in the European Police Congress as well as numerous specialist forums. This provided valuable insights into police work at European level and an opportunity to learn about innovative systems and solutions from the exhibitors.

This is the third time we have accompanied and supported Ukrainian delegations during the congress. Our aim remains to further strengthen exchanges between Ukrainian, German and European authorities, expand international networks and promote sustainable cooperation in the field of security.

Many thanks to everyone involved for the open discussions and the important joint dialogue!

International exchange in Hamburg: This week, a high-ranked delegation from the Carabineros de Chile joins the Hamburg Police to gain insights into de-escalation tactics and public safety strategies.

The timing could hardly be more exciting: alongside theoretical and practical exchanges, the delegation gains active insights into this week’s major events in Hamburg — the Port Anniversary celebrations and the highly anticipated Hamburg derby between Hamburger SV and FC St. Pauli.

In addition, training and development concepts for specialist police units are being discussed, creating valuable opportunities for dialogue and mutual learning.

A strong example of international cooperation and knowledge sharing in policing. 🤝

Today marks 81 years since the end of the Second World War in Europe.
A war that claimed millions of lives and changed the world forever.

Especially today, in times of growing global tensions, this day reminds us how precious peace truly is — and how important international cooperation remains.

In response to the horrors of war, the United Nations ( ) was founded in 1945. What started with 50 member states now unites 193 countries with the shared goal of promoting peace and security around the world.

🕊️ Remembrance means responsibility.
For peace. For humanity. For the future.

We’re delighted to share the thoughts and reflections of two participants from the recent CSM training course. Their feedback highlights not only the value of the programme, but also the importance of creating spaces for learning, exchange, and professional growth.
It is truly encouraging to see how positively the training has been received, and we are grateful for the engagement and enthusiasm of everyone involved. We are already looking forward to the next round of training and to welcoming new participants soon.

🚔 Training 1: Strengthening Crime Scene Management in Abuja

For seven days, 25 police officers – including nine female officers, reflecting the growing participation of women in operational policing – took part in a professional Crime Scene Management Training organised by the GS-Foundation.
The course brought together patrol officers, investigators and forensic scientists to strengthen cooperation and shared procedures in operational police work.

Through realistic, Nigeria-focused scenarios, participants trained in:
✔️ Securing crime scenes
✔️ Evidence and fingerprint recovery
✔️ Police photography & documentation
✔️ Witness handling
✔️ Radio communication & stress management

The practical approach and hands-on exercises received very positive feedback and strengthened participants’ confidence in professional crime scene work.
Another important step towards stronger operational policing in the FCT.

We’re proud to kick off our first Mentoring Workshop with the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (GIES) on 29–30 April.

Led by our strategic advisor Elena Moisei, who works closely with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, this workshop focuses on strengthening project management coordination at GIES—especially in the context of EU funding opportunities.

Over the next two days, we will work together to:
• Build a coherent internal mechanism for identifying and prioritising needs
• Develop strong, bankable project concepts
• Enhance inter-departmental coordination for external funding applications

A great step towards more impactful and well-coordinated projects. Looking forward to the collaboration!

The Carabineros de Chile recently spent six days at the State Criminal Investigation Office (LKA) Stuttgart, deepening their expertise in cybercrime. 💻🌍
During their stay, they engaged in a valuable and insightful exchange with their German counterparts, gaining first-hand insights into investigative approaches and commonly used tools in the field.
A big thank you to the Landeskriminalamt Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart for the warm hospitality and the inspiring training experience!

What does violence have to do with security? More than we think.
At the IAWP Conference in Chișinău, one message stood out:
➡️ Gender-based violence is a security issue.
In crisis contexts, effective responses depend on trust, cooperation, and institutions that are able to adapt.
